I think there was a hardcover flipbook for a brief time. Not sure I heard about it at the time. Pretty sure that Treebore snagged one. Right?

If there was one, I didn't get it.

This is an example of the Trolls needing to utilize POD options. They don't want to print a HC flip book? Fine. Just upload the files needed to Lulu and Drivethru, and let them do it.

I would like one.

The Flip is the best version. However, it needs a third way to rotate so the CKG can be included.

I shouldn't be saying this but Knoblenight has a few flip books for sale. Why not saying....because I want them but have all my money allocated for kick starters.

A question to who have had them....which is better the 2009 version or the 2014 version?

I still have a worn out copy of the 2009, and a newer copy of the latest one. Without them right in front of me, I'd say that the 2014 should reflect at least any changes made in the 5th printing of the phb. The most signficant change would have been to the encumbrance rules.

2014 has the best errata, which still isn't as good as the 6th printing, and the covers are far better, in my opinion, of course.

If your not buying it to collect, there is something I do to all my soft covers that see regular use. I tape them. I tape the spines and all the edges. I always use the heavy duty 3M clear packing tape. It will help your soft covers hold up much better for many years, which is far better than the alternative, so the yellowing that will eventually happens is no big deal compared to the damage that will otherwise occur without the tape.

Again, just a suggestion.

You can also use contact paper to help protect books. Here is a video showing how: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7dkGzdi7ul8 I did that with my Amazin Adventures book and so far it is working great. No idea if it will yellow in a few years or not though.

My understanding is it will yellow, it is the glue/adhesive that does it, from what I have been told.Plus I am also told its actually the tape/contact plastic itself that is actually doing the yellowing, for the most part. Paper itself will yellow, given enough time. Like my 40 year old copies of 1E AD&D are starting to yellow, and many of the modules yellowed years ago. None of which are taped.
