What is the difference between the "Classic Monsters The Manual" and the "Monsters and Treasures"?
Do they cover the same monsters? Do I need both or is one better than the other?
Help this old man not waste his money, please.

M&T is the "main" monster book for C&C with your standard cratures and your treasure info.
CM is a collection of "classic monsters" mainly from 1e MM2 and FF.
Both are great, but you really don't need either if you have any early edition D&D monster/treasure books. But if you want the one that "completes" C&C, get the M&T. I recommend getting CM when you can afford it.

Yep, CM just gives us a bunch more 1E monsters converted to C&C. Most, if not all, given a completely new spin, so they aren't exactly identical. Well worth getting even if you have the old versions, just for the new spins the author took on the old monsters. Still, far form a "must have" for C&C. Like Rigon says, if you still have the old books, you already have a version of the monsters in CM.

Thanks Guys. The M&T came as part of the
bundle I bought from RPGNow. So I was unsure if I needed the classic Monsters. Now I know I can buy something else.
Now to pick what to buy.....

You don't need anything if you have everything.

Well . . I see that the bundle includes Monsters & Treasures of Aihrde! A superb monster manual, to be sure!!
When your players tire of orcs, gobs and kobolds . . use this book to KICK their ASSES into the void!!!
[Exception . . eldritch goblins ~ OMGosh, they are awesome!!!!]

Wonderful quote. I wish I had the funds to follow the concept.

I am putting the
Classic Monsters on my "buy in the future" list. For now I already have
Monsters & Treasures and
Monsters & Treasures of Aihrde but I will own them all at one point.
