Would the character levels indicated for 3E adventures roughly correspond to C&C character levels?
IE: a module for 2nd lvl 3E characters = C&C 2nd lvl characters

Depends on the adventure. 3E encounters would likely be a bit easy on C&C characters and they were designed for 4 PCs to have around 4 encouners per day. Encounter numbers are smaller than AD&D/C&C type games. 3E monster hit harder than OSR type ones.
Some of the 3E adventures and APs are good though and would roughly be in the ball park, you might just have to tweak the encounters and hand out story xp awards as 3E PCs level up faster as well. Its an art from though not a science. I can often run AD&D in E, Pathfinder or 5E with minimal adaptation and vice versa but you can screw it up due to the differences between the rules. Giants, demons, devils, Dragons one has to be careful with.

Yeah, they fit pretty closely. As Z says, though, if you want to run multiples in a row, leveling won't go the same.

Depends if you're using the CR and ECL system or whatev. If not, a d20 PC at level 1 is close to a C&C PC of level 2, with some caveats. Higher level C&C PCs are actually somewhat more powerful than D20 ones... at least spellcasters. Assuming you're using the C&C version of critters. So, for up to like level 12 or so, it's pretty safe to say d20 module = C&C level spread; after that, trickier.

Slimy doesn't run high level games. He usually stops before 9th level.
I'd argue that if you adopt all of a given monsters skills and feats and given attributes to C&C, 3E monsters make for far stronger monsters than C&C. Especially at the higher levels. Which is why I use them.
