2nd printing is the appropriate term. It clarifies many rules, has some additions, clears up typos, and has a new layout. But the 2nd printing does not alter anything significantly from the 1st print run.
That said, if you have a choice, get the 2nd printing. The improved layout alone is worth it- much easier and enjoyable to read.

No.
A new edition would be a complete revision of rules. A new printing is just that, a new printing. Erratta fixed, typo's fixed, layout polished, but still a new printing.

Some argue, vehemently, that the 2nd printing is a 2nd edition, because there are some "new rules" included, like the encumbrance clarifications, and poisons listed in the assassin class. However, these things were meant to be in the first printing, and are, hence, simply added errata to make a more cohesive system. Anyway, the core rules for C&C have not changed, nor will they, even from the box set to the hardback to the new "basic." The only book that significantly "alters" C&C is the CKG, and that doesn't radically change anything, either. It just clarifies how things work, and shows how to use that to make things different, if that's your inclination.
