Healing/removing petrification

Post by kelro »

Just curious, and I may have missed this in one of the books, how does one cure petrification (being turned to stone, like from a cockatrice bite)?

I took a glance through the spells and didnt see a stone to flesh of flesh to stone type of spell.

Thanx in advance for any assistance.

Spell research, adventuring for a cure (ie, a rare herb or the blood of The Medusa), some magic items, and other spells could, in theory, if the CK wanted to let them. There didn't seem to be a spell in the PHB to reverse the condition which leads one to believe it is incurably permanent. So... don't get bit!

Though i recall that under the description of petrification (under saves maybe), it mentions that if a character loses an appendage while petrified, and that piece is held to the stump when he is cured, he regains that appendage.

While it doesn't say how, it's clear that they did intend for it to be curable.

Of course it would be one of those altered name spells... blasted Trolls.

Yea, the "Transmute" threw me.

Cool though, thanx very much Geron. I figured it was likely just an oversight on my part.
