Who here has the True 20 rules?

Post by Treebore »

If you do, would you be interested in brainstorming class building with me? Meaning turn the True 20 class building rules/mechanics into a tool box with which to custom build character classes for C&C?

Since its 20,000 I suggest "Captain Nemo" as his title. Beyond the obvious connection, he is one who sails on his own terms and ignores those he doesn't agree with...confident in his journey and goals.

I have them. But I haven't looked at the rules closely enough to put together what your suggesting.

Yeah, plus I imagine/hope that the CKG will provide a framework for doing this.

So eventually, what I am hoping to be able to do, after the CKG is out, is appoint XP values to various feats in True20, and allow those feats to be used to build a classes "class abilities", to the point where I hope it will allow custom classes to be built in 10 minutes or less.

I see no reason, since I have my Deconstruction, Part II, which assigns XP values to some odd 500 feats or so.... so any other feat would just be a matter of finding something similar and doing something similar.

Why not use whats in the M&T on page 88 under magic item creation?

No reason why the xp cost method therein couldn't be used to mix and match class and feat abilities just as effectively as magic item cost?

Well if this document is in the CKG it sounds like you have already done the work for me.

I have almost all the True20 stuff. What I see, is to create 3 C&C-like classes: Warrior, Expert, Adept, that are done with hit-points and BtH and the same EPP for the three. Then, the classes get 1 feat per level as in True20; just need to convert these feats into C&C feats, also using d20 as a guide. And of course, inspiration can be taken from d20UA, which has three similar generic classes.

If you have the 2e DMG, it has one of the best class-creation systems ever. And I find moving a 2e class to CnC to be pretty easy.

True, I had forgotten that.

I also have True20 and am thinking of converting the feats... easier since there are no Aoo's...

Pretty much gonna graft on SWSE skills...

Yeah, the class creation rules in the DMG were pretty sweet. My longest played 2nd Edition character was a lone wolf thief created using those rules. He was fun as hell.

I run a True20 Yahoogroup here: http://games.groups.yahoo.com/group/true20/

You may feel free to post any ideas regarding T20/C&C options there.
