WERE IS THE CASTLE KEEPERS GUIDE BOOK?

Post by flyingcircus »

I have asked this question years ago and was told each time it wold be out soon. TLG has a real time problem it seems, since this book should have been out a long time ago. What gives, they run outta paper?

It's still in development.

It's not considered an essential book for the 'core' game, so extra time is being taken to ensure quality.

Steve has been gutsy enough to say "November". Hopefully he meant November of '07 and not 08 or later.

Since its 20,000 I suggest "Captain Nemo" as his title. Beyond the obvious connection, he is one who sails on his own terms and ignores those he doesn't agree with...confident in his journey and goals.

Heh. You didn't get him to pin down a year? You're slippin' Tree, you're slippin'.

Well, he did say "this fall" and "this November", but the trick is to figure out which year Steve is in when he says such things.

The book will be announced as available when it is. I have a very good understanding of where it is at, developmentally speaking, but its not ready... there are things like editing, art, sections to be finished... you know, the kind of thing that would piss you off if it just came out. So, relax, and get the best product you can, or demand it now and get something you don't want.

---

And, to be clear, that is my own personal opinion, not that of TLG, or its representatives, of which, I am not.

If its still editing and laying out, I don't have a real good feeling about this November.

As said above: opinion. Not fact. Only Davis and Steve have any real idea of where, exactly, it is. I only know of what I am supposed to know... which may, or may not be, anything at all.

TLG is like a giant conspiracy, really. Need-to-know-basis, and all that.

A bit of a smart Alec are you, for your first post? And learn how to spell.
Who told you it would be out soon? The book has been in development and no firm date has been announced that I know of.

Ease up a bit, Rhuvein. We're a friendly forum, remember? We're all impatient for the CKG, and TLG is known for not meeting deadlines (Lack of complete A series, Cult of Yex, Castle Zagyg...)

So there's bound to be bit of teeth gnashing going on. The only thing to do is wait for a definitive product release announcement.

Well . . OK, kiddo.

I like "grrrr"s with my teeth gnashing and maybe even some barking or howling!

Wow Rhu! Your normally the "peace keeper" around here. Go to the gym and punch the bag for awhile.

Keep some of that for Ravenloft though. 2 days.

Well, I try - like all of us. And I don't want to beat up on the guy, but I think it's important to note that . . . if you're at a site like DF, RPGnet or ENworld, that type of post (rude, non-friendly and trollish) might be less "challenged"?

But going to the publisher's site and firing off your first post in that manner, is to me ~ less than endearing to the hosts of this forum and then to the rest of us.

Frankly, it's close to insulting.

If I wasn't such a dress wearing pleasant fellow, I would pull the offending poster's hair and scratch him with my nails!! Yeah!!!

*smiles* How about everyone just let it go, eh? No need to beat it into the ground. The initial question has been answered, move along.

I'll decide when the time is is ripe for moving along, friend Peter the Bard.

A Knight will nay allow any hogswallop from a 1 poster farm hand. You're a knave my friend, but this knight will not tolerate any and all "cheek" from those that haven't paid the price to speak up, heh?

If my Leige Lords take any umbrage or issue with me posting, then they alone can speak and I will kneel.

My sword swings freely at any and all, that challenge the knightly code!

There are no other liege lords before me... cause I can do this. *locked*

The dudes with the orange mod title decide when its time to move on.
