Quickstart...

Is the C&C Quickstart still free to Download? I thought I would use it as a hand-out to some players i want to seduce to C&C.

I notice the maps to the workhouse still haven't been added to the Quickstart.

Probably a good reason for that, like, whatever reason. :)

I'm soo glad I got mine in print. Had to buy them, at $14.95, but, at least I have them!

OUCH. Did you get anything else with it... was it a single copy?

I was lucky (real lucky), and got mine early with an order through NKG.

I've seen people charging a crap load of money on the DCC they were giving out that day (something I believe was borderline criminal when I saw how much they were going for). Thankfully, they've chosen to reprint it at sell it as a cheapie DCC. If it's not out yet... it's due out soon.

To be honest, I'd like to see the Trolls do something like that.

Maybe split the costs (and subsequent revenue) with AGP and put out both the quickstart and the Tell Qa preview in one booklet. If they did that, and sold it cheap... say $5 or something like that, I'd buy it.

I did get it with the Tell Qa booklet, a Shadowrun item (First Run) and Champions 4th edition hardback, but, these each had a cost of their own... I was not able to get any of the Free RPG Day items for free, and I got them from NKG, too. The thing is, by the time I was able to get the blasted site to load, you had to buy something (minimum $9.95 order) and the second FRPGD item I wanted wasn't listed yet, so I ordered one, paid, found the other like half an hour later, and had to order again (with the minimum re-pay.) Needless, I was not happy, and still am not, about that crappy situation... I do very little NKG buying now, because that left a very bad taste in my mouth, and, I think they are about 40-50% higher than they should be (though there are some really good deals to be found if you dig long enough.)

Oh, wait, no, I did get 1 FRPGD item for free... the DCC. My fiance's dad went and picked it up for me; the store didn't even know they had them.

I follow ya... In a round about way, I ended up paying $23.03 for my stuff on that day.

I got TLG's 'Path of the Magi' at $6.95 (new), 'Crusader issue 5' at $3.19

I got the C&C Quickstart, the Tell Qa Preview, and DCC 51.5 as my freebies (well they were at 1 cent each).

However it was the shipping that cost the most... $12.86

I was hardly complaining with the price of the Path of the Magi book though.

Gideon_thorne, thank you very, very much. I looked all over (or so I thought) and must have just missed that link. Thanks again!

The Large/Heavy Shield is still listed as granting +2 AC, as well. Personally, I prefer it that way...

Most of the free down load stuff should be in the 'support' link on the main page.
