Rogue's abilities in the collector's edition

Post by shane »

So I got the little collector's edition boxed set in the mail the other day and I read through the books. One thing I noticed... maybe I'm missing something...

The Rogue's Abilities say what they are and how to do the roll, but there's no mention of how they improve with experience.

They improve by going up in level, so when you're 1st level you add one to the roll and when you get to second you add two. Easy. Oh and plus any ability modifiers.

Going up in level is how everyone "improves". Level is added to all saves, all class ability checks, etc... with the exceptions talked about under being "non prime" in that section of the PH.

Since its 20,000 I suggest "Captain Nemo" as his title. Beyond the obvious connection, he is one who sails on his own terms and ignores those he doesn't agree with...confident in his journey and goals.

Oh. Well, that makes a lot of sense. Guess I just missed that in my quick read.

Found it. It's in the attribute checks section of the rules.

Considering that most checks for a rogue are fairly static, that is, they don't change with level (a lock with a difficulty of 5 is always a difficulty of 5), the improvement is quite dramatic.
