I've been toying around with this idea for a couple days.
It's easy enough to do Samurai (Knights), Sohei (Monks), Yamabushi (Clerics), Ninja (Assassins), Yakuza (Rogues) and Wu Jen (Wizards).
As for monsters and the rest I'm considering picking up a friend's copy of Oriental Adventures (1st edition, of course).
Has anyone tried this? What do you think? Bear in mind I'm no Japan buff.
C&C: Oriental Adventures!
Welcome to the crusade, Butcher! There's a thread or two on the subject around here somewhere. You should be able to locate them using the search function and keyword 'Oriental'. In fact, here's one to get you started: Oriental Adventures

Why not just use the classes as is and tack on the Seige Engine? Is that possible? OA only costs $4 for a pdf and ~$10 on ebay (or free is you are sneaky).
If ever our group wants to play OA, that is what I plan on doing -- at least, until Francois' original OA notes are produced in a C&C game. EGG mentioned that was a possibility a few years back. I confess that I loved the OA book "as is", but I do want to see the book in its originally intended form.
Can a Troll weigh in here and let us know if that's still in the works/planning stages/talked about at the local pub?

The OA that was released for AD&D was a greatly expanded/modified version put together, almost completely (according to its author) by Zeb Cook. The original version was written by someone else (Francois Froideval,) and that never saw the light of day. At one point, there was discussion of the original manuscript being used to produce a C&C OA, but that's as far as its got... that I know of.
