Has anyone made a list of all the online converted monsters?

That would be a great resource, the work has already been done. We just need to collate it. Anyone already started?

That would be great. I'll gladly take requests if someone wants to see a specific creature converted. I'm not perfect, but I'll give it my best shot.(if I have the original stats to work from)

I'd love to see all the different C&C conversions in one place.

I had planned to go through the boards and put them up at the C&C wiki as a big project, probably organised alphabetically or doing one page per monster. There's also lots of original monsters on the boards as well.

I started collecting them to do just such a thing... but, the monster threads were so fast and furious there for a while I lost my place and don't know what I have versus what is on these boards. So I scraped doing that.

There are some damn good monster threads from last year too that needed to be added to the lists of the more recent threads.

I think I have them all so far. I have a 100+ page Word file with monsters from here set in a ten point font.

Wasn't there a fellow on ENWorld who collected and converted the old monsters into 3.X?

Maybe he'd be interested in tackling such a challenge. Perhaps one of the more knowledgeable folks here could contact this individual?

Yes there, is, JediOre, it is BOZ if I recall correctly, he has an entire section down the line on the EnWorld messageboards.

Yeah, BOZ is awesome. I believe he had a lot (some? Little?) of help too. A couple of whom put together Necromancer Games' Tome of Horrors books. BOZ may have even been a contributor to those as well for all I know.

Pact, what are your thoughts on sharing that doc? A doc or pdf would be great! Call it version 1 or book 1 if you feel like sharing. I'm sure someone or the usual CnC fan sites would be happy to host it.

Cheers

I don't have a problem, I just need to figure out who did what. I threw them all into a file without sorting out between the authors. I know who they are, not just what each one did without a bit of research. I am certainly not opposed to sharing if the authors are fine with it. You just need to shake down slimy, blood axe, dangersaurus and any of the other recent contributors.

Not unless you can convince WotC to allow them. Good luck with that.

Though, at one point (I think I still have the letters of authorization), I was given access to use every demon WotC had published... might have to see about that.

All the demons? Interesting. What has monsters has Wotc publicly claimed as protected IP?

As for other monsters, what would be the best guidelines for checking to see if the monsters are OGL? I know this extra step could be a pain, but in the end, it would be a very useful tool for many until TLG publishes official replacements.

Yes. A special project, though. Likely not possible any more.

Everything they, or TSR, ever produced that is not in the SRD. That's easy to check.

And no mind flayers, githyanki, githzerai, yuan-ti etc. I know githyanki have been covered in the conversions. Thank you for the reminder, serleran.

If the mosters are in the Tome of Horrors from Necro they are OGL monsters. I don't have those books so I can't cross reference anything but it might be worth a look. Any other TSR 2.0 sanctioned OGL monster books out there? Here is a list of the monsters from Tome I (3.5):
http://watermark.drivethrustuff.com/pdf ... sample.pdf

Also, I believe people on the Dragonsfoot forums are putting a book together as well. Is this the same document? There is a call for volunteer artist at the top of the forum page that references it. Btw, I volunteer myself to work up a few drawings. I am not a member there so PM me here.

Cheers

What Serleran said, but other than that, I posted them for everyone to use however they wish.
