Gods thread (inspired by the monster threads)
It'd be neat if we could start listing gods from various worlds for use with C&C.
Both published and original stuff.

From Best of Dragon Vol. III
Shargaas
Lesser god
SIZE- L 8' tall
Hit Points- 265
MOVE- 35
AC- 18
ATTACKS- 4-40 (3/2 attacks)
SPECIAL- Ambush, +2 or better weapon to hit, blindness, hiding
SAVES- M/P
INT- High
ALIGNMENT- Neutral Evil
Worshiper's Align: Thieves, assassins, and those who do evil under cover of darkness (orcs and half-orcs)
Symbol- Red crescent moon with red skull between the horns
Plane- Gehenna
Cleric/Druid- Nil
Fighter- As 10 HD monster
Magic-User/Illusionist- 7th level illusionist
Thief/Assassin- 16th level thief/15th level assassin
Monk/ Bard- 10th level monk
Psionic Ability- yes
TYPE- Extraplanar
Shargaas the Night Lord lives in a tremendous cavern system below the firey plain of one of the levels of Gehenna. It is said that his caves extend infinitely, and are darker than the blackest night. There no creature has sight but Shargaas himself and his orcish spirit servants. Shargaas, though blinded completely by light from the sun, can see perfectly well in darkness out to a range of a mile or more. He can also climb any surface, even perfectly smooth ones, without slipping. In the days when he is said to have walked upon the earth, Shargaas could also hide himself and his followers so well that no mortal could detect his ambushes or lairs.
As might be expected, orcish bandits and half-orc thieves hold Shargaas as their patron, as do other regular orc tribes. Clerics of Shargaas are multi-classed (cleric/theives or cleric/assassins) if they are half-orcs; it is rumored that even orcish shamans and witch doctors have some small degree of thieving or assassination skill (probably some 05-30%) success at one or two abilities like hiding in shadows, picking pockets, or assassination from surprise). The major religious holidays in the worship of Shargaas are the times of the new moon, when the sky is dark and cloudy.

Here's my main baddie for my Old Isle Setting.
Andy "Atom" Taylor did the art.
Grimic (grlm' ic) The Slaughterer
Preferred Weapon: Spiked Club
Armor: Any
Providence: Destruction. Fire & Torture
Alignment: Chaotic Evil
Sanctum: Goblin Temple & Shrines
Ceremony: Rite of Blood & Fire
Taboo: None
Granted Abilities TBA
Description: Grimic appears as a burly, humanoid warrior with cloven feet. spiked tail and bull horns proceeding out of either side of his round head. His constant companion is his blood-stained, spiked club. Grimic enjoys battle for its own sake and the accompanying plunder of his victims. Not a god of strategy or tactics, Grimic thinks all one needs is sheer strength, will and rage. The majority of his clergy are humanoid shamans, though a few human and giant clerics can also be found worshiping him. Prayers and sacrifices to Grimic take place during the new moon and just prior to battle and always involve the shedding of blood and the destruction of something precious by fire. Grimic only accepts males in his service. His clerics and shamans seldom work together since they continually attempt to seize each others authority. They often dress similar to their god and must take weapon proficiency in spiked club first, since it will remain their main weapon. They may wear any armor (usually stained red by blood shed in combat.) Clergy of Grimic spend much of their time proclaiming the glory their gods power, stirring goblins into a frenzy and competing against each other for his blessing. In addition, his clerics and shamans torture captives in order to prolong their humiliation for having been defeated. Captives are often tortured to death on the eve of battle.

The Pantheon of Mystika
The Prime Deity: First Among Gods
According to almost all legends of all peoples, there
is one God who came first, bringing the other Gods into being,
and eventually creating the universe. The details of the
mythology of how this occurred vary from culture to culture,
but the essential elements remain constant. In current Ilshara
the Gods are most commonly referred to by their Zarthani
names, as the culture of Xanadar spread the Zarthani images
of the pantheon to almost all quarters of the continent. This
common acceptance is not applied in Syak and Cashini,
which still use the Syak names of the Gods, the Elven and
Dwarven realms, the nations of Makistan and Mendor
(which use the Baku as do the Baku Mori), or various Char/
Menthakin descendents of the deserts or Hunovia who use
the Char/Menthaki pantheon (which is the same from its
common Ventaki derivation). Halflings for the most part
accept the Baku pantheon while Gnomes generally tend towards
Zarthani.
The principal deity is named as follows depending
on the pantheon noted (the gender of any god is noted in
parentheses after the name). The Prime God is of no specific
alignment, encompassing all ranges of desires and inclinations
within his/her deity:
The Names of the First Among Gods:
Zarthani= Zar (M)
Baku= Thira (F)
Syak= Syonn (M)
C/M = Varkura (M)
Dwarves = Stor (M)
Elves= Jorana (F)
After the principal deity come the Greater Gods, one
each for the principal alignments of the universe. The domains
of these Gods will be listed in the more detailed section
to follow. Where a particular alignment is rejected or not
worshipped by a particular race the name is noted as none.
** GMs should feel free to adjust or make changes as befits
the necessities of their individual games.
Zar Zar is the Father of All Gods, the First Among Them.
Zar brought the universe into being and set about the tides of
Chaos and Order and the Balance between them. Zars domain
is the heavens and the rule of other Gods, to whom he
leaves the details of the creation of the world and its peoples.
Kalar Kalar is the God of Justice and Righteousness, the
patron of all those who battle evil.
Kimra Kimra is the Goddess of Light and Fertility, patron
of all things that grow and multiply. In whatever culture,
Kimra is the embodiment of nature at its best, of beasts and
of plants.
Solan This God is the patron of unpredictability and evolution,
of positive change and the beneficial effects of Chaos. It
is often said that strange and weird looking animals (the Oliphant
for instance) are jokes of Solan upon the world.
Gulthan Gulthan is the God of Wisdom his powers and
inclinations are patrons to those who are wary of disturbances
in Balance and seekers of knowledge to better understand
the universe.
Marz The God of Magic. The imposer of Magic on the
world as a true unifying force in the Balance of existence.
Chalosz The principal God of Chaos, architect of all that is
unpredictable in the world.
Brax The God of Oppression and subjugation to Power.
The patron of the Sythgar and evil overlords of the world.
Devoutly opposed to the devoted of Kalar.
Andost The God of Subterfuge and Deceit. The cunning
and sneaky shall inherit the world. The motto of those who
worship Andost is Do unto others before theyd do it to
you.
Nurina Goddess of Death, Disease and Suffering. Nurinas
worshippers believe that only through pain and despair is
truth to be found.
Chronar The God of Time and all things Temporal.
Deleen The Goddess of Weather and of the Elements.
Faltor Pal God of Stone and Earth.
Remenith God of Judgement through Battle. Only through
the Chaos of Conflict can the strong survive and prosper.
Often referred to as the Uncaring One.
Vuchar God of Knowledge and Learning. The patron of the
arts, and all non-magical sciences.
Kristan Goddess of Healing.
Taran God of Law and Order.
Miribar Goddess of Order and Purpose in Nature. Greatly
revered by the Elves, but also by Druidic societies in Ilshara.
Sometimes referred to as Mother Earth.
Aldoran God of the Stars and the Moon, who look down
with neutrality on the denizens of Mystika.
Pelos The God of Animals and wildlife.
Mira Silverhand Principal servant of Marz in the realms of
Magic, especially of Illusion.
Garn The God of Luck and of Mischief. Garn is tasked with
supplying the forces of luck as subtle oppositions to both
good and evil in maintaining the Balance of the Universe.
** The majority of the gods in the Pantheon are the same across all races, nationalities, etc., with changes in name or gender or representation depending upon the culture worshipping. (Most of the above names reflect the dominant Human culture of Zarthani in the world of Ilshara).

This a God made by one of my players who wanted to have a Priest worshipping a non-evil spider Diety.
Elmiriss
Lord of Spiders
Demi-God
Elmiriss is the great lord of Spiders, but instead of representing evil & chaos, as Lolth does,he represents law & order. As the spider's web is orderly ad follows a pattern, so does Elmiriss. He actively opposes Lolth & the evil Drow. His Priests dress in black & silver with spider/web motiffs being prevalent. His followers have no power over Undead, but instead can command arachnids. The Priests of Elmiriss can wear any armor, and use any clerical wepons, but the favored weapon is the mace. They have a specialized spell list. The Priests of the Lord of Spiders have several spells dealing with webs, poison, and spiders. Along with his order of Priests, there is also an order of Monks that worship Elmiriss.
Dedicated to T.J. RIP buddy.

No, he was a human Priest and created it as a mainly human diety. Obviously not a hugely popular diety,we ran it as a rare, small cult/religion, but it was what he wanted. We had alot of fun with it. He created alot of special spider/web/poison related spells. No anti-undead ability, but he gained some Druid spells like Insect swarms, Creeping Doom also Wizard's Web spell, Spider climb, etc.

Slimy I hate to disagree but his domain is only the LS FR thread, but there he is alllll powerful!
I'm in that camp too. They should cause awe & fear in allll mortals! I do tend to play lower level games though.
I've notes somewhere on the Pantheons for my homebrews. They were mainly Celtic, Viking Greek, with other ones for the bad guys being Persian & Hindu etc. Some very recognizable with just slight name changes some changed a bit.
I agree with that!
