I have wonderful question - my apologies for all my queries!
Is there a specific reason that some of the dragon's abilities are spelled out with its own entry? And that the entries are sometimes contradictory?
Example - Red dragons have a listing for "Other Spell-like Abilities." It lists "7-9 locate object 3/day," among others. The odd thing is, that the next entry is the red dragon's description is headed "Locate Object," and goes on to state that red dragons of mature and older can use the ability once per day.
The brass dragon has a similar problem (with speak with animals).
The black dragon's corrupt water is pulled out and made its own entry, but the uses/day aren't in contradiction (and I can see why this is pulled out - its fully describes what corrupt water is capable of).
Why are the entries seperate (listed in a group and listed again on its own) and why do they contradict?
My apologies if this has been answered, I wasn't able to find it if it has.

Have you read the errata threads? I think this was addressed in the errata.

Since its 20,000 I suggest "Captain Nemo" as his title. Beyond the obvious connection, he is one who sails on his own terms and ignores those he doesn't agree with...confident in his journey and goals.

It was muddled in conversation - the original entries had material in certain places and then was moved, and then moved again, and finally, just forgotten - the reason for this is that several changes took place from the original descriptions to the finished format and it had not been decided what was going to be used and what was going to be dropped... so, needless, there was a lot of miscommunication in those days (amazing how well it came out, considering...) so lots of needless mistakes crept in. As to which version to use -- I go with the age breakdowns.

Crap. I copy/pasted the stickied errata to a Word file for the 2nd print errata, but I don't have the 2nd printing of M&T. I have it on order, and was looking at that errata and not the 1st print errata (which is the edition that has the issues in it).
After reading the 1st print errata, I do see the red dragon clarification, but no clarification for the brass dragon's speak with animals.
