Prime Constitution
Hey..don't know if this has been covered in another thread as I have not looked at them all..lol.
Do characters get extra hit points for having constitution as a prime? I know they get extra hp equal to the modifier. I have looked pretty thoroughly, but haven't seen anything about it. I can see how the argument could go for and against it, but I was curious as to if there was an actual rule about this.

At first I thought that might be an interesting house rule, until I realized it might be exploitable. I don't want every-freaking-body to take Con prime just to get extra hit points.

I believe it's the Ability you use for the dreaded Level Drain saves too. Basically, Con supports arguably the best and most important saves in the game, but doesn't really fit well into a "skill package" usage. If you have a clever GM, however, he should be coming up with interesting ways to use your prime Con (perhaps physical exertion tests for chasing after fleeing enemies).

I was just hoping that there was some rule hidden away in the books that gave you a one time hp bonus at first level...would definitely make a prime con that much better.
You won't find this anywhere in the rules as written, but a lot of us have house rules giving PCs max hit points at first level. (And frequently max starting gold, too.)

A hit point bump from a prime in con can cause game problems. I wouldn't suggest it without giving each other attribute a modifying ability to game play.
If hit point bumps are a concer (especially at first level) I would go another route. Many choose to simply allow max HP. Thats OK but tears away the variable. I like variable with a base.
Take max HP for a classs, half and hae the characters roll to determine the rest.
Fighter/ranger is 5 +1-5
Rogue/Assassin is 3 +1-3
etc.
That should power up the HP enough t first level to keep characters in the game. It does suck to start a game with 1hp. Though I have managed to take a character with 1 hp start and min gold as fighter to 5th level. He died eventually by falling off a roof. LOL

LOL
walking across the peak of a tiled roof in the dark and rain, slipped, clattered down grabbing onto tiles, managed to grab the gutter pieces, they held for a moment. another character threw a rope to him, he grabbed it but dropped, the force of the drop caused the other character to lose his balance and slide down the other side. my character fell to the ground, hit some crates and broke his back.
the othe chracter managed to luck out and land on the top of a butress 5 from the roof.
