Class Abilities

Post by Name Level »

Is there a compiled list somewhere of class abilities? It would be nice to have as a reference, so that the CK knows when a character is performing a routine attribute check versus attempting a class skill (and thus doesn't add level bonus). I'm sure it's pretty obvious to the seasoned CK, but it would be nice to have all these skills in one handy table.

Okay, thanks.

Followup question:

Wouldn't it be great if there were some kind of electronic index, that you could search for answers to questions? Perhaps the results would display on some sort of screen? Anyone hear of anything like this?

There's the 'search' function on our forums. Chances are, someone's asked the questions you have somewhere before.

Ayup, and at least 50 times.
But, I prefer people actually posting questions. How else can I pad my post count with replies?

Usually does on the internet. Text alone is not the best medium for the conveyance of emotion.

Those don't always translate well either.

There is also the Castle Keeper's E-screen that is free to download (found on the links, resources and utilities thread), it is super-spiffy and gives you just about all the info you could ever want at the touch of a button if you like to use a lap top at the game table.

Man, I never knew this existed. Unless it's the same thing Traveller has in his sig. But I don't ahve that link in my favorites, and I have to name search him each time to find that link.

Hehe...I love em so much I have to stop myself from adding them to official office documents and memos (and sometimes I don't bother).

I got the pdf screen and there is no index of class skills. What if I don't want to invest twenty bucks in the screen just because I want that one feature? I suppose I could just compile my own list...

You can use the quickstart PDF to help you do that pretty quickly, if you didn't buy the PH PDF.

A few fans websites have downloadable character sheets that list the class abilties. One I am thinking of is an excel sheet. Don't remember whose it is though. Could probably to a google search to find it though.

Well, the official PC sheets that TLG sells have them listed. I don't think the one on the TLG website does though. The printed sheets are kind of like the old school 1E sheets in that they list the class abilities for the classes they are for. Besides having the goldenrod color, etc...

DANG! I should have ordered another one when I ordered CZ:UW today.

Are you thinking of Eric Campions sheet..... found here http://www.dragonsfoot.org/php4/archive ... fileid=217

I have one that is similar to Erics that cleans up his sheet and auto adds abilities/skills. Mine also does 2 weapon fighting by the book.

I have an Excel based one on my site. Follow the link in my sig and you'll find it.

The only class that doesn't have all abilities listed is the Monk.

LOL. I've got so many versions of character sheets now, I'm not sure where any of them came from. I've still got your version too!

I wasn't really looking for something that tells a character what his class skills are. I was looking for a cheat sheet that tells the DM when a character is making a non-class skill check.

Although, I've realized since my initial post that it's a short enough list to type out manually.
