Kobolds and Light Sensitivity

Post by rabindranath72 »

How is it supposed to work? They are listed having this flaw, but they do not have it explained.

Shouldn't orcs/goblins have something similar ? (IIRC their AD&D counterparts)

Serl would probably be the best to answer this but...

For those who aren't as familiar with previous editions of AD&D, creatures with light sensitivity often suffered a -1 hit penalty while in daylight. Kobolds were also considered nocturnal. That's how they were handled in AD&D 2nd ed.

Following that logic, I really don't know why Goblins and Orcs are excluded from this. They similarily suffered the -1 penalty in daylight and were considered nocturnal.

Maybe the Kobold's flaw from the M&T book was a carry over from the SRD and they forgot to remove it.

Serl?

Or they forgot to add it to goblins/orcs? Serleran will surely help

The light sensitivity missing from the goblins and orcs was one thing I had wondered about as well. I've kept it in my games just assuming it was an oversight.

I did appreciate how C&C orcs returned to the LE alignment as oppposed to the CE alignment of 3e.

Chaotic Evil Orcs to me never made sense either.

I have totally kept in the light sensativity attribute in my C&C games for Goblins and Orcs. Seems to go hand in hand with a classic baddie. It just works for me. Night creatures they are.

Are there any creatures IN the M&T that have "light sensativity?"
