Is the softcover version of the 4th printing available?

I know there was a softcover version of the 4th printing of the PHB available at GenCon, but I'm not sure if it is available to buy here, or if it is out of stock? Is it true that it contains color plates?

The version available at gencon did, indeed, have colour plates. But I believe they are all sold out at this point.
That being said, there is a soft back version available for direct order from TLG that wont have the colour plates in it.

Might want to get the Brian to change that on the site, what's listed right now in store are the hardbacks or the GenCon edition of both the PHB and M&T.
Frankly, I think the color plates are a nice plus to the softcover books and if they continue to be sold, I think it would be a shame if these were taken away.
Of course, the other thing to consider is a 'Cyclopedia' softcover edition that puts both the PHB and M&T together in one volume.

Now THAT sounds like a great idea both the 4th printing PHB and 3rd M&T together (assuming that the shark stats are in it ) would make a superb product!

Yeah, but I would want that as a Hardcover edition.
Then when the CKG comes out, and I like it like I think I will based on what I saw at Troll Con, I would want all 3 in a HC version.

.....being too lazy to quote all the above.......
I must agree that I would prefer hardcover editions - in fact it's pretty much guarenteed that I'll be getting the new printings when they come out (especially of the PHB) - but I do like the idea of a 'one book' version of the game (PHB and M&T), although I doubt we'll see it (after all, the 2 books mean 2 great covers!)

I've ordered the softcovers anyhow. The announcement of the definite date for the PHB doesn't give me any regrets, as I'd already pre-ordered the hardcovers too. I like being 100% certain that I will have *some* form of the PHB 4th print.
