Hi, when charachters add a flat amount of hp to their total, usually after 10th level, do they still add theri Constitution Bonus? In the Original Game they didn't, but in C&C I couldn't find any clea rule about that: am I missing something?

On p.133 of the PHB (p.120 in previous editions) the rules seem to say that you do add Con bonus to the fixed Hit Point addition after level 10. This is, of course, nuts.

Yes, add them. You're gonna need them.

We did. Even in the old version D&D.

I do not have players add Constitution modifiers after fixed progression begins. At that point, the players have learned what the character can handle. And, if they have not, they don't need HP anyway.

I always assumed that the CON bonus was just added to the hit die to 10th level, and after that you just got the class HP bonuses, be they +1, +2, etc. However, after re-reading the PHB I found the following on page 133 under Hit Points". --

Per the 4th printing PHB:

"Hit points for the classes are acquired by level. At each level, the hit die

type is rolled and added to the previous levels total. The constitution

modifier is added or subtracted from this roll. At 10th level and above, all

classes acquire hit points at a specified rate. Constitution modifiers are

added to or subtracted from this. In all cases, a character gains at least 1

hit point for each level advanced."
