Math and Experience

Post by rickyh »

Help me to figure out the math formula for awarding experience points

How much experience would I award for four goblins with 1 HD (d6) with 3 hp each? How did you come up with that? I tried following the example at the front but it was to complicated.

Per the example at the front:

Somehow you multiply the number of HP of monster by the hit die and divide by 2. It shows the HD in the example to be 5 HD d10, so does that mean 25 x 5 hit die for 125? Does that mean 25 x 10 (10 being the max hp on a d10 die?) then divide by 2. Somehow the answers ends up having a total of 280,

You take the base value then add the value per HP they have, so I believe your creatures are 8 XP each. 5+1+1+1 (3HP)=8 XP

Since its 20,000 I suggest "Captain Nemo" as his title. Beyond the obvious connection, he is one who sails on his own terms and ignores those he doesn't agree with...confident in his journey and goals.

Oh, well that makes it much easier, I thought you had to divide, multiply by this and that, etc...
