Sorry if I'm not phrasing this correctly but could someone point this old gamer (back into RPGs after more thw 20 years away) to good house rules for C&Cs magic that makes magic more, um, "organic" ....
By "organic" I mean less like the fire and forget of old D&D and more of a organic and malleable skill like wielding a sword. Feat or skill based to some degree I guess. More like a system where magic is simpler (and less powerful?) and still inspires wonder and awe when demonstrated to the average peasant or orc.
Did that make sense?
