Enchanted Weapons?

Post by Shenron »

So, if I have a +2 Sword of Frost...

Does that mean the +2 does not count towards the hit/damage?

It is just the equivalent of the enhancement?

Bonuses always apply to hit and damage unless the descriptions says otherwise. For example, some weapons might only allow a creature to be struck, when normally it would be immune to non-magical weapons, without actually providing a bonus to hit or damage -- some may provide a bonus to hit, or damage, but these are always explained in the ability description when appropriate.

I think that is awesome! I have always disliked the particular mechanic of DnD games.

Man, the more I learn about C&C the more I fall in love with it.

Am I to assume you have come from the 3/3.5 era of D&D?
I think it was done that way to budget weapons and armor a little bit better (as opposed to previous editions) and to make it easier for an appropriately powered item. But yes, with all those "plus equivalents" for the different power-ups (frost = +1, holy = +2, speed = +3, etc.) that didn't equate to attack and damage bonuses could get confusing to some. C&C harkens back to earlier versions of D&D (the 2nd and 1st editions of AD&D) for a lot of things, but keeping a lot of the good mechanics of d20.

Hear, hear. I know that feeling, exactly, Shenron. I started getting into C&C back in early/mid 2008, and it was a like a snowball. The more I read, the more I liked, the more I read...and so forth. May you Crusade be a long and prosperous one.

Ya, I do come from 3.0/3.5 era in the DnD realm.

I still have my ADnD books, I miss second edition, but I am digging Pathfinder.

Me three!! I'm hooked on C&C and I think it's because it has a little bit of everything I love about the game - a smattering of D&D/AD&D with some d20/3E thrown in - very cool!
