PROCLIMATION! ~ MARCON XLI
The [OHIO] Cleveland Crusade goes on the road.
For those of you in the Columbus Ohio area on Memorial Day weekend, fellow Crusaders will be at the downtown Hyatt Regency hotel on High Street for MARCON (
www.marcon.org ). The gaming festivities are held all weekend but Crusaders may take note that there are a few Castles & Crusades games being run on Saturday May 27, 2006 from 11:00am - 7:00pm. There might even be a few pick up games!
I have it on good authority that C&C prizes will be awarded!
Besides Crusading with our favorite fantasy role-playing game, there will be much revelry involving:
Social gatherings for all tastes,
Dancing dames (and gents)
And the imbibing of many, many libations!
Come one, come all to the MARCON festival of Columbus, Ohio!
See you at the show!

Sometimes, for short periods of time, I wish I still lived in New London, which is about 40 minutes West of Cleveland.

The FPQ FAN GROUP is running two sessions, I believe both on Saturday afternoon.

Free RPG days overall was a success. We game out lots of swag, and generated some sales. Overall I was a little dissapointed with the turnout for the day as a whole. I think we had about 15 customers or so who knew about the event. I talked to the manager of the only other local store participating in Free RPG day and he said his store was pretty much a bust with about only 7 or 8 customers.
I think the word just didn't spread out amongst the gamers who don't frequent message boards enough, websites, etc. I'm thinking that most of the store owners didn;t event know about the event anways.
As for my personal C&C game, it never materialized. I had a couple people show up to learn about C&C, but didn't have enough time to play. One guy wanted to play, but didn't want to run an adventure by himself. However, we talked about old school and C&C for a while and he did end up picking up a C&C PHB + the AOBTR module. One kind of neat moment was a pretty young women came in to pick up some free white wolf swag. She mentioned she played 3rd edition (D&D) but couldn't get into it becuase it was too complicated. We talked about C&C for a little bit, and she seemed genuinely interested, and game her the material for her boyfriend to check out...
Overall, the day didn't suck but it wasn't grand either. Didn't get to run any C&C... maybe next year.

No-one showed there was a fair crowd there but mostly there for the usual Heroclix stuff. Someone did get a Changeling demo off earlier in the day.
I am going to try again in the future.
