A-Series Discussion/Workshop

Post by alcyone »

I was thinking one use for the Knights of the Crusade chat could be a discussion of the major module lines from TLG. I was thinking of restarting my A-series home campaign, and thought a sharing session might be nice.

- How to tie the modules together. What is the overall arc?
- Winter Dark backdrop and how it affects life in the campaign areas.
- Virtual Tabletop maps, or other useful maps
- Obtaining magical items in Aihrde
- Fantasy Grounds support (They have modules for A1-A9 and Back To/Return To). How to get the information into other VTTs.
- Notes, encounter tables to streamline play.
- How to get info to the PCs (how do they know to go to this place?)
- NPCs
- Rumors
- Events
- Recommended order/level of side quests (e.g. return to blacktooth ridge)
- Scaling, adjusting XP progression
- Tying into Aihrde
- War stories from people who have run/played loooong module series/adventure paths.
- Sandboxing during/between the modules
- Running for the public (I don't run in game shops, but maybe people who do might have tips for streamlining the action for such venues)
- Maybe getting this info written up in a free companion document for people daunted by running a 13+ module series.

Etc. I don't have anything written up, could be an informal discussion. Any interest? Maybe for Oct 30, 7pm CST? I'd like to start seeing some bigger numbers there if we have an agenda and plan ahead. Another thing to talk about would be the new Domesday, though, I'll leave that to Treebore to set up.

Also, if this doesn't work out, we can discuss in the forums too. I wish we had spoiler tags or some way to keep CK content separate from player content.

Sounds like an interesting discussion. I may make it 9PM Eastern if not earlier.
