Origins 2011

Post by Piperdog »

Anyone out there going to this? I can't imagine Omote not going to this one since its in his backyard. It looks like this fits in my schedule this year, so I may go for a day or two at least to see what it's like.

It's a possibility-- since Omote's kind enough to drop in at the con in my backyard, I'd really like to get to one of the ones in his-- but probably not a great one. I'll admit with everything going on with me (new house, bringing the fiancee up in a big move, eventual wedding) this summer/fall is kinda packed. I had to pull strings to ensure I could swing Gen Con.

I should try to make this one of these years. It's a sight closer than Little Rock or Lake Geneva and I've driven to both for cons. And Piper, as far as I know, Omote goes every year.

The O-Man! Can't wait to jump into a Derrick game. I got to sit in on the last part of a game he ran last year at a mutual friends house, and he is a killer CK! I was pissed that I got there so darn late. But this year is a whole new game baby!

I think I have gone to Origins about 11 or 12 times in the past 16 years. With my new work thingy going on, I simply can't commit this year until 3-5 days before Origins. Which stinks for getting a hotel room and what not. If all of you fine chaps are making it down this year I'm really going to have to pull rank and get my ass down there... *hopefully*

Thx for the kinds words. :)

Also, in recent years Open Gaming actually at Origins (The Greater Columbus Convention Center) has sucked. The tables they do have are usually filled. Now, I havn't gone searching for every free table there but certainly in the designated areas they are filled late into the night. :/

So ya know what? We go find a table somewhere and carry that sucker to the open gaming area! Watch the heads turn as we grab some sorry cafe table and wander off with it....heh, heh. Or better yet, would a pub be a better spot for such things?

Just saw in the C&CS newsletter that there will be some Trolls at Origins. Excellent! Any idea if there will be any events?

I'll be there and will be running an AD&D event. I'd love to play some C&C if possible.

I will be there Fri and Sat, with my teen son and his buddy in tow; I can run a game or three or jump in a game with whoever wants to run one. Not sure what events we will be in yet.

Excellent! I will do my best to be in on the C&C game, perhaps with one or two players in tow.

Any idea when you might think to run some C&C? Just trying to plan things out.

For that matter, any general plans about C&C folks meeting up?

If I can get there (and I'm certainly going to try because of all the great folks showing up), we'll need to do a C&C meetup. For realz.

I missed hearing who is going, but I'm out this year. Trying to get to GenCon, though.

Just booked my events and left Saturday night WAY the hell open. Me and my crew are dying for some C&C. Anyone up for running something that night?

Would it be possible to lock down a tentative time... on Saturday.

I'm 90% going to Origins. I booked a room and will be ready, willing and able for all Columbus goodness. Look to get some C&C in as well.

Holla! I can play at all hours of the night, or during the day. I know I will have some two or threee BattleTech things happening at various times, but otherwise I'll be open for any classic gaming, C&C, or otherwise, on Friday night thru Sun.

"eh? eh?!?!?!?!"= a quote from Morte the prevaricating skull in Planescape: Torment. I figured you would have gotten that one, but it was too obscure and general :D

Good first day at Origins. Talked some shop, and hung out with some groovy people. Origins has become a very accessible convention in that it's easy to meet and talk to industry people. Origins is becoming more laid back, and that's a good thing.

Probably going to be running some C&C one-shots today.

Tonight, we'll see if we can get the big dog to run some C&C.
