Post Remington Model 11
Am I missing something or is the Remington Model 11 a little over powered with no recoil? Potentially 3d10 on the first combat round 2d10 on the second.

Hm. It looks like you caught an errata that's made it past just about everyone.

Since the Remington Model 11 is semi-automatic, it should absolutely have a recoil. In this case, that recoil should be -3, since it's a 12-gauge.

I'm not sure how you got 3d10, though. It is not double barreled and does 1d10 damage.

At point blank range (and ONLY at point blank range) it does 2d10 damage...and then ONLY if loaded with bird- or buckshot, and if you use those, you do half damage anywhere beyond the first range increment, but accuracy improves by +2. When loaded with slugs (the default assumption), damage is standard regardless of range increment. In no way should you ever be doing 3d10 with it.

The MAX damage you could do with this weapon is if you explode your attack roll 3 times, and are at point blank range with shot. In this case, you'll deal 2d10+18 damage. But that's with a natural 20 followed by a 6, then a 6, then a 6, on your exploding roll: an unlikely scenario, and one in which you deserve to explode heads.

Also, it's only available in games set after 1949.

It has a rate of fire of 3 in my PDF? Am I running off an old copy?

It is listed as "All years" in my PDF.

I assume this can be added to the errata of the new printing?

Rate of fire 3 does not mean 3d10 damage. It means 3 shots, with each shot rolled separately and potentially doing 1d10 each. Your third shot is going to be at a whopping -6 from recoil.

I'm still not seeing what's overpowered about it.

And it is only available in games after 1949. That's listed in my print copy. I've seen reports that the pdfs didn't have the complete errata included, somehow.

Fair enough. Was just explaining why I thought it had the potential to do up to 3d10 worth of damage in a single combat round. Fixing the recoil is a good control on it.

Will the recoil get updated in the errata thread? Its still not listed as applying to the "Final Release Version." Just don't want it forgotten about for the new printing.

See the link to the PDF. The fix is in there.
