Growler,

You by chance in Charleston?
Since its 20,000 I suggest "Captain Nemo" as his title. Beyond the obvious connection, he is one who sails on his own terms and ignores those he doesn't agree with...confident in his journey and goals.

Treebore,

I live in the Upstate of SC, about 3-1/2 hours from Charleston. I am near Clemson and Greenville on Lake Hartwell.

I asked because I lived in Charleston from 1987 to 2005. Wondered if we knew each other.

Kyle,

Could you flesh this out into a workable code for my Paladin with his goddess?

---------

Exhibit courage

Act with prudence

Maintain temperance

VALOR:

--------

Fight with honor

Avenge the wronged

Defend the weak and innocent

Never abandon a friend, ally, or noble cause

HONOR:

---------

Always keep one's word

Always maintain one's principles

Never betray the confidence of comrades

Be respectful of life and administer mercy

DISCIPLINE:

--------------

Show self-discipline

Obey laws fair and just

Always avoid sin and vice

Live a life worthy of respect to all

COURTESY:

-------------

Exhibit manners

Show a sense of fair play

Be polite and attentive

Be respectful to women

LOYALTY:

----------

To God

To country

To comrades

To your Code

TRUTH:

--------

Act true

Speak true

Spread the truth

Defend the truth

Treebore, I will look at it, but won't be able to work it into the first session, I need to go to bed soon. It looks good, I may adopt it for my campaing, with slight adjustments. I will have it ready beofer the 2nd session however. I have the first session written out and it should be a dousy.

Sounds good. I just want you to use it as a tool to clue me in on how you expect me to play my Paladin, etc...

Figured it would be a good outline format for you to fill in as you think it needs to be.

Thanks to CK for an exciting afternoon!

You would think that living outside would make me immune to bugs, but ants still make my skin crawl - especially giant ones.

Yeah, it's pretty bad when a Ranger shoots himself in the eye with an arrow. OUCH - thanks be to Zyla and Verona for their gracious healing!

Great first session folks, check out the campaign journal here.

You all should be more effective when you are fighting in your armor instead of your undies!

Ahh but the stories...the stories...you'll never be able to downplay that moment!

Yes - the stories! Isn't that what we all live for! To be sitting around a campfire sharing great stories. Life should be so good.

I have been looking around at other software we coulduse and found this one OpenRPG. http://www.openrpg.com/index.php?page=install

It can be used as a private server, dice roller, storage (maps etc), map screen with movable minis and a lot more.

Take a look and see what you all think, we then could use say MSN messenger or something to use talking.

mIRC worked fine for me.
(I'm not a fan of OpenRPG, being built with d20 in mind, it just has too much overheard.)

I downloaded OpenRPG and looked at it, it is an interesting program, but too many bells and whistles for me to screw up. I am not very savy with chat programs and such, if fact other than my game and skathros game, I have never been in a chatroom for more than 10 minutes before. mIRC is nice and simple and I like it. You all accomplished about what I expected in 3 hours of playing.

Might I suggest Screen Monkey Lite

It's free for all and the only one who needs the software is the GM, the players connect via a web browser. This way Mac people can play too... (except the GM need to be PC )

It's easy to use, not many bells and whistles...
Here's some Screen shots

Screen Monkey Lite is very cool and not overly complicated. I fooled around with it a few weeks back, it's quite nifty, but anything with personalized maps and mini-tokens is going to require a bit more work for our good CK.

In other words, whatever Combat_Kyle wants to use, I'll go along with happily. Even OpenRPG

Emryys

Post by Emryys »

Well if maps and tokens are the problem may I suggest RPGMapshare.com
I'm quite familiar w/ SML, GRiP and RPTools... if help is needed

Gentlemen,

I found out today at church that we have a scheduled event next Sunday afternoon. Is there another day/time we could play our next session?

If not and Kyle wants to puppet me, I am OK with that.

Well one player has dropped out because of real life, another has joined and grrrowler and seskis281 can't make it. I am inclined to play on SUnday just to keep the plotline going (I don't kill ghosted characters, but they can become prisoners!) I would be open for another day if you all can agree on one. If not we will play on sunday as planned.

That is a funny observation. Although with my luck, even if it did rain this weekend, they would reschedule the picnic for our next game day.

Thanks for your prayers!
