Oregon gaming...

Post by narpet »

So... like I said in a post in the general forum... I just got to play a fun game of C&C with Go0gle and Dachda today... so this post is mostly for them. But if there are any others here in Oregon I'd love to meet you.

I prefer C&C but I've got so many other games that I'd love to get in some gaming sessions with some of them. In case anyone's interested here's a list of some of the games I own that I'd love to play:

RPGs:

Fantasy:

Tunnels & Trolls (5th edition from 1979, 7th edition and 7.5)

RuneQuest (3rd edition from 1984 and 2006 edition)

D&D (all editions)

Hackmaster (all editions)

Sci-Fi:

Gamma World (all editions)

Starsiege

Star Frontiers (original edition)

Alternity (only addition)

"board" games:

Descent: Journeys in the Dark

Runebound

Tomb

Arkham Horror

War of the Ring

Zombies!

This isn't a complete list... but I would love to get in some play time with any of these. So... if you're "game" (pun intended) let me know. My main obsession is C&C though, so I'm always up for a game... whether as CK or player.

Thanks again to Go0gle and Dachda!

If I were in Oregon, I'd be up for some of those, but would have to show you the real thing. Like, Warhammer Quest instead of Descent.

I'd be up for anything... that was just my list of "would love to play some time soon"... I've got many other games waiting for some players
I've never tried Warhammer Quest though... have to look it up.

I know the wife would probably be up for Arkham. Not much of a boardgame player myself. (they bore me for whatever reason)

Gamma World, 2nd ed D&D, and T&T I've found to be enjoyably fun.

Already been thinking about "the next encounter."
btw...Hrogar is kept himself tied off to the mast on the voyage back to the mainland.

Not much of a boardgame guy myself either, (except for ASL, lol), but would be interested in a Gamma World one-shot. I have the mutant future rules, and not the gamma world rules though. But I'd be most interested in that Umbrage saga campaign notion you had Narpet, if we can get something going on some sort of regular basis.

Oh, and Wethinoc occasionally tosses a bucket of sea water on Hrogar, to see how beet red his cheeks get when he's angry! Hmmm good thing Hrogar tied himself to that mast.

Good thing it was only a 3-day journey back to the mainland or Hrogar would be very sore from being tied to the mast for so long... and shriveled from constantly having buckets of water tossed on him by Wethinoc
I'd love to play some Arkham if we can get it together... and...

Umbrage Saga... YES. I'm ready to start that asap. I would even allow all of you to keep your one-off characters if you wanted to and I could adapt for level. I always heavily alter any printed adventures anyway... so I think it would be a blast.

AND... I'm also up for some Gamma World. I have a campaign all ready for that as well... or just maybe some one-off games.

Sounds like we need to figure out our next meeting date and place. I don't mind hosting... but I also don't mind traveling.

I'm stuck here in pdx 'till the baby arrives and the in-laws arrive a bit after that to help out. But like I said Eric may be able to host at his place here in Portland. I'll try to find out from him if that is possible sometime in Sept.

If we did start Umbrage, I'd be into starting at lvl 1 with a new character. Those first couple of levels are always the most challenging, hate to miss out on those.

Wish you guys would try on line gaming, especially if you can play on Thursdays. In that group all we do is play a variety of RPG's on a 6 week rotation, and we have been doing it for nearly 3 years.

We have even played the DOOM board game!

Yeah...I'd do the Umbrage from lvl 1 also. More fun to really have a chance to develop a character beyond being derthly afraid of drowning in an overgrown puddle.
Good luck on the newbie Chris....at least you'll be home so the sleep deprivation won't be quite so bad.
Can't do thursdays Tree. Tends to be one of my busiest school days...and the homework simply eats me alive once the term gets going. Once a month...maybe twice I can do...for now.

Okay... if we decide to start the Umbrage Saga... we'll start 1st level. It's what I prefer as well... but wanted to offer up using those one-off characters just in case. I'm up for any weekend in September... and if Eric wants to host that sounds good to me. Let's see if we can figure out a good date and set it in stone.

Tree - I may be up for some online gaming. PM me with info on what you use and how you do it and I can see if I can make some time.
