CKG in 7 weeks?

Post by Treebore »

OK, Steve must have drank a TON of Dr. Pepper yesterday and put himself into a sugar and caffeine stupor. Why? You ask?

He posted this on Facebook:

"The CKG is at last getting wrapped up and should be done in the next 7 weeks."

We all know how unlikely it is for the Trolls to stick to any stated schedule of any kind. So lets run with this. Lets place friendly bets as to when we think the CKG will actually be done.

I'll start first. It will be done in just a nick of time to premier at next years Troll Con, whatever date that ends up being, usually in July.

Since its 20,000 I suggest "Captain Nemo" as his title. Beyond the obvious connection, he is one who sails on his own terms and ignores those he doesn't agree with...confident in his journey and goals.

Based on what I know of what is left to complete, I'd say Steve has a very good chance of finishing it... if he can keep to his 26 hour a day nonstop schedule.

Mid December, missing by mere days any important deadlines for a Christmas release. It won't ship until the 3rd week of January.

Hence why the Dr. Pepper sugar and caffeine stupor which is obviously already afflicting him! We also all know how terrible the crash from it is, and how long it usually takes to recover!

So what date do you think he will actually have the CKG done by?

My estimate is November 4-10, assuming no pitfalls and the like. It could be faster. He should reply to my reply and then another chunk could be taken out of the equation.

September 16th. He meant to write "days".

.... What? I can dream, can't I?

Do we mean when the book is editorially done or the street date? If you mean street date, I second Treebore's guess.

LOL I would resent that remark if I didn't so much resemble it! I have consumed barrels of that stuff. I'm beginning to feel like that twitchy character on south park hahah

Does 'wrapped up' mean actually in my hands or ready to go off to the presses?

Or, it could mean to go to editing and layout, both of which are continually evolving.

According to Twitter it is already there. Well, up to chapter 3, with the rest following ASAP.

Yep, I'm working on C3. I've had some health issues that have kept me from getting a good jump on this project. Blame any lateness on me. Steve has really been moving along on the chapters. The stuff I've seen is very cool. You guys will enjoy the book when it's released.
