This topic is for listing spells that when cast together are highly effective or funny.
(i.e. create water on the floor, then lightning bolt).
The most wicked combo I've found so far is for a wizard to cast a projected image, then an arcane eye (to watch the image from behind)...which allows the projected image to travel and cast spells far away from the caster.

"So I was on the first level of the dungeon and I got fireballed...and get this, the wizard was on the fourth level at the time!"
How about that for a combo!

Another combo...(subject to DM discretion)
1. Cast Minor Globe of Invulnerability.
2. Walk up next to enemy and cast a 20' wide dome of force surrounding both you and the enemy (with the enemy next to the edge of the sphere).
3. Cast fireball inside the dome.
In my campaign, I rule this "compressed fireball" does four times normal damage.
I allowed a wizard to create a high-level spell that does the whole routine in one shot, called "Tajir's Inferno".

1. cast light spell in face of enemy at a campsite. (works best with elve and Halfling wizards, move silently)
2. Use mage hand to scoop up 5lbs of hot coals and chuck them into blinded creatures face.

Remember that old "duo dimension spell" no wizard ever bothered to cast.
Check this out...
Merlin Garrett (okay so the first name is really generic...2nd character I ever created, some 25 years ago), my high level wizard made a bunch of similacrums. Then he and all his replicas each cast Duo-dimension. When they stood in the same spot (indistinguishable from each other since they had no depth) and all of them cast a spell, it looked like one wizard moving in a blur (like neo in the Matrix). And there was no way to detect how what appeared to be a single wizard with a blur managed to cast a bunch of fireballs...all at the same time!
Moo-hoo-ha-ha!

"Tower? What tower. You mean that pile of dust over there?"

Hey, if anyone wants a really wickedly cool 9th level spell for a wizard...ask me about "Vorpal fingers".
By the way, for those who like fireball...add lightning ball, waterball, acidball, iceball, poisonball, snowball, and even the funny one cottoncandy ball (does sugar-shock damage when you eat your way out of the equivalent of a web) to your wizard's 3rd level spells.
...Any takers?

I had a AD&D2e Wizard who's spells all had something to do with electricity.
His Magic Missiles resembled mini-lightning bolts, but otherwise were magic missiles. He also had "Ball of Lightning" (Like the 2nd level Ball of Fire Spell), Nelzie's Electrical Arrow (Which acted like Melf's Acid Arrow spell, only with electrical effects, instead of acid affects.)
He also had Lightning Ball, which acted similar to a Fireball, but had the problem of exploding where he stood, if cast while in/under water.
He was okay with a few inches of water, (even up to his waist) but once submerged, he was very limited in what he could do.

I like the way you think!
In fact, at the con I'll be handing out some pregens, including an eskimo wizard who's damaging spells are all cold versions of the normal spells (cold missile instead of magic missile, freezing hand instead of burning hands, ice bolt, instead of lightning bolt, etc.).
Very similar concept to what you've mentioned.
