Which version of C&C do you play?
I'm not as interested in 1st printing vs. 2nd printing vs. 3rd printing vs. 4th Crusade printing, but more of a global "big picture" of which rules set you go by.
The quick-start rules set is the 25-page "Free RPG Day" version with limited level options.
C&C Collector's Edition / White Box (I can't recall the page count offhand) is the little white books in a little white box.
C&C Condensed is 114 pages long with limited class options.
C&C "regular" (combines the PH and MT) weighs in at 280 pages (129+151).
Or, do you play a hybrid of the rules sets?

Even though my house rules document may make it count as more of a hybrid. Plus right now we are running a game using the AD&D 3E rules by CSPerkins for my Tuesday game, for all other games we pretty much go by the books, predominantly the third printing, with some stuff taken from the 4th printing. So far we largely ignore the new Illusionist spells, with a few exceptions.

Since its 20,000 I suggest "Captain Nemo" as his title. Beyond the obvious connection, he is one who sails on his own terms and ignores those he doesn't agree with...confident in his journey and goals.

My game is pretty much PHB/MT as written, with a small number of house rules.

Hybrid. I throw in a good amount of Warhammer Fantasy Role Play, lots of AD&D 1st edition, and several things from Arduin and The Arcanum. And, we're not even considering the stuff I've written or created for the game which does not necessarily fall anywhere in the presented options... especially things from the unreleased 1001 Monsters.

Pretty much straight C&C via the PHB4 and M&T3. On a seperate, on and off campaign, we use C&C Collector's Edition (White Box) 99% exactly by the books.

Beleive it or not, I have mainly played in con games, or gm'd con games only. Not too much of a regular campaign for local players yet. I was lucky enough to convert them from d20 to Savage Worlds. Hopefully, C&C will come along as well. When I do run C&C, it's usually the latest ph and m&t. Haven't had a chance to use the new illusion spells, but I've heard mixed reviews. Must admit I've never been a big fan of encumbrance value.

Dang. I knew it was called the "Collector's Edition" but blanked on the name when I wrote the poll. I fixed my post, but can't find a way to edit the poll.

i play the regular edition, but with some major house rules. For example, I don't like the 4th printing illusionist or its spells, so I don't use it.

We've been using the C&C collector's boxed set version for over 5 years - the only exception being that I allowed 3 newer (2005) players to build PCs from the 1st print PH that were not in the collector's PH when they joined the game after we had started . . druid, barbarian & paladin.

Re: Which version of C&C do you play?
I started a game with the 1st printing and worked in a handful of house rules. I then added the errata sheet that included a few extra goodies in the equipment section.
Others at the table picked up the second printing.
The campaign came to a close before anyone picked up the 3rd printing.
I have a copy of the 4th printing and will be using that, along with a ton of additional house rules in the next campaign that takes place in my game world, which is set to take place almost 200 years after the last campaign. The world itself will have changed and become more... Victorian with a bit of an industrial revolution having taken place.

I like BtB C&C with the PHB/M&T with very minor houseruling (mostly dropping 12/18 split and making it a flat target number with +6 for primes).

I am using the 4th Printing of C&C with a few House Rules and some AD&D 1st Ed. critters thrown in.

Re: Which version of C&C do you play?
The more I play C&C the more we play it by the book. At first it really was a 3.5 type game. Then we started to drop the extras one by one. Now we play C&C pretty much by the book.

Not too hard to redo the original post/poll if you are so inclined. We'll vote again!!finarvyn wrote:Awww. The poll went away in the great forum switchover.
