Cleaver the Pit

Post by Joe »

So I am playtesting a new game, and the group wanted to run a party of a new race.
They found themselves dumped off on some docks at a random city and I found myself looking thru my stuff for a random city.

I am roughly using the maps from Heart of Glass. I have never really read HoG or ran it, but I am borrowing the map layoput and some of the graffiti related stuff for my own game.

Well as I was ab libbing the entire session I stumbled upon the Cleaver the Pit bar scene. Not sure how it's supposed to be run as written but I had the party pretty much stumble into a scene in Fight Club...yeah huge shocker if you know me. :o

I also wrote in one of the fighters as a black gentle giant much like the dude from The Green Mile.

I don't know how uit was supposed to be run...but we had a blast.

The first rule of Cleaver the Pit is you don't talk about Cleaver the Pit!

Has anyone ran the module as written and what were your impressions?
I don't think I'll use the plot in the book but I bet there are more precios goodies to garner from it like the fighting pit!

It's been a while since I've read HoG, but your use sounds like out kicked arse.

I have only ever used the city as a backdrop for other adventures, not having actually ran the adventure contained.

Sounds like a fun way to play that, though. I'd probably have made a giant smurf.
