What gaming stuff are you reading?
Woot! My last Ebay win came in, so now I will be able to check out Spycraft D20, Shadowforce Archer, Stormbringer (Chaosium), and Metmorphosis Alpha (25th anniversary edition, Fast Forward Games) for the first time ever, other than quick look throughs at books stores. Plus I got Mutants and Masterminds Crooks!, and 1E versions of the core book and Freedom City.
Oh! GURPS Fantasy was in it too, but I am pretty sure I already have that.
Pretty nice looking haul for $26!

Since its 20,000 I suggest "Captain Nemo" as his title. Beyond the obvious connection, he is one who sails on his own terms and ignores those he doesn't agree with...confident in his journey and goals.

I'll be starting on DMGR1 Campaign Sourcebook and Catacomb Guide shortly. I hear good things.

After much waiting, some stuff arrived from Australia (it takes a long time for things to ship to or from there), most of which is Judges Guild:
The Unknown Gods
Fantastic Personalities
Masters of Mind
Shield Maidens of Sea Rune
The First Fantasy Campaign (and it has both maps)
Rat on a Stick [for use with Tunnels and Trolls]
and a non-JG item -- Solo Dungeon XIII: Sewers of Oblivion [for Tunnels and Trolls]
all for the low, low price of shipping!
And... to make it even better, a box that said it was from Troll Lord Games showed up, too:
C2: Shades of Mist
R3: The Black Libram of Nartarus [x2]
Monsters and Treasure 3rd print [Steve sent more than I requested, but that's cool. I have a few friends who might want a copy.]

I'm in the process of flipping through the classic Thieves World box set by Chaosium and the Victoriana rule book (1st edition)
The Thieves World set is definitely cool and just screams old-school. However the Victoriana book is something I'm easily drawn to. What can I say, I'm a sucker for things that are late 19th century.

I just got my copy of The Canting Crew in from NKG this morning with the mail. So far, I'm loving it. Unfortunately, the thief in my campaign is a noob, so I don't know how willing she'd be to try running some encounters in character using the thieves' cant guidelines that went in there, but it's still a really neat concept.

Hellfrost Player's Guide for use with the Savage Worlds rules. Really good stuff here. My two complaints with this product are that they are switching to a three book release (the gazateer and bestiary are coming) and there were no plot point scenarios (not that big a deal but they do make it easier on a time-deprived GM). All-in-all I'm pretty happy with the product bacause everythiung else in it rawks hard. The setting is compelling and the character info is a lot o fun. Looking forward to running it.

My best friend, William Hobbs, shot himself thursday night-friday morning.
He told us to keep his books and stuff.
I dont really want them though. I gave him a couple for christmas.
I could have seen it coming, if I'd known he was so depressed.
But he never acted like it. He loved gaming and was always ready to throw some dice. His home life was so different then what I pictured it.

My condolences. Its not necessarily better being aware, one of my brothers has always been suicidal, and its like being on a roller coaster from hell. So even being aware you can't necessarily save them.

The only person who can help someone when they get that depressed is themselves Charlie. You got to decide to ask someone for help...been to the edge of that particular abyss a couple times.
I'm sorry your friend is gone mate...but don't blame yourself for not being there for him. *buys a round*

Charlie, My condolences to you as well and please pass all our condelences to his family and the rest of your gaming group. You are all in our prayers.
After being sidetracked for a bit with other things, I'll hopefully get to sit a spell and read through X1, Isle of Dread!

I've known a person or two who would claim that to read X1 once would be one time too many. Though, don't light it up good sir! There is plenty of adventure awaiting you upon the Isle of Dread.

Isle of Dread is easy to find and usually less than $10 so lack of PDF's shouldn't keep you from getting that one at least.
I just saw two copies on ebay for about $10, including shipping. One blue cover, one red.
