AGP, WoHA, WoHF, and etc.

Post by jamesmishler »

Hey y'all...

Just to give a bit of a status update...

1) I'm posting this here and elsewhere, because I still don't have my forums up at AGP. My webmaster tells me it's something to do with the database and Esskyooell and other such arcane programming stuff. I dunno, it's all Orichalan to me, I last programmed in Basic back in 1985... So for now, no AGP forums.
2) Wilderlands of High Adventure. Will have maps with hexes. Ideally in color. For C&C.

3) Wilderlands of High Fantasy. We will release products for WoHF. These will be as close to the classic style as possible, taking into account developments in the Necro version. For C&C, with d20 System conversions available in PDF. The way things are going right now, you might see WoHF products before you see WoHA products. Let me know, via e-mail, what kind of WoHF products you would like to see. Remakes of the classic modules are out; those are being handled by someone else.

4) I've seen the quality of the print jobs I'll be getting... it's good. Very good, especially for print on demand. You won't be disappointed; I know I wasn't.

5) I need classic-style artists. Hungry ones. Send me an e-mail to my AGP addy if you are interested.

6) I'm pretty sure I have a cartographer for the Wilderlands maps, but will need someone who can do classic dungeon/village/city style maps. Also hungry would be good. Again, e-mail my AGP addy if you are interested.

7) Super sekrit stuff going on. Can't say. Shhh!

That's it for now. Let me just leave you with a little preview of Ravaged Ruins of the Roglaras:
1107 Troll Bridge: An ancient stone bridge of Viridian make spans the River Syfwitch at this pointthe bridge is guarded by Kreeg the Fair Troll, the outcast brother of the trolls that live in the mountains in hex 1206. He is an outcast because he is a vegetarian and a pacifist, the result of his donning a cursed ring of opposite alignment, which transformed him from chaotic evil to lawful good. Cast out from his brethren, whom he tried to convert to his peaceful ways, he made his way upriver to this bridge, which he restored to passable service through hard labor and continues to maintain and guard, requesting only goodwill donations of coin, written materials, or food (grains, fruits, and vegetables only). The confused merchants of Elixer, Doom, and Bernost are glad to pay this simple toll, and have not complained to their leaders, as the bridge the troll restored dramatically cuts travel time around the River Syfwitch. One merchant from Elixer even taught the troll how to read, when he expressed interest. The existence of the bridge and the troll is still relatively secret, known only to a few merchants from the three nearby settlements.
Kreeg the Fair Troll (He is a lawful good male hill troll, and his vital statistics are HD 9, HP 44, AC 16, Move 30 ft. His prime attributes are mental and physical. He can attack with two claws for 1d4 points of damage each, and with a bite for 2d6 damage, though he is most likely to attack with a large staff for 1d8+3 points of subdual damage. He regenerates 2 points of damage per round, beginning the third round after being damaged, though he cannot regenerate damage from fire or acid. Kreeg speaks Giant and Alryan, though with an atrocious accent). Even though he is no more intelligent than other trolls, Kreeg makes an effort to speak intelligently, and likes to use big words that he learned through reading his small library. Kreeg looks like a typical troll, though he bathes every day, trims his hair and his beard, and dresses in fine white clothing and large shoes that a merchant from Bernost gave to him. He can read halting Alryan, and considers himself an intellectual, a point of pride. He hopes to be able to learn from a sage, and become a true scholar. He lives in a large, well maintained hut on the south bank of the river. In addition to a large feather bed, table, chairs, fireplace, pile of wood, full water barrel, and cupboard with dishes, the hut contains his meager treasure, including a bushel each of fresh fruit and vegetables, seven bushels of cracked wheat, ten loaves of bread, and a large three-quarter wheel of yellow cheese; an extra suit of fine white clothes and a pair of large shoes; a small library of books and scrolls in Alryan, mostly dealing with stone working and construction, current events, local history, and childrens myths worth 300 gp; a small wooden chest worth 50 gp which contains the cursed ring of opposite alignment; and a small sack with 65 cp, 82 sp, and 54 gp. If evil types wish to be placated with a bribe to leave him alone, Kreeg will gladly give them his most treasured item, his magic ring, the cursed ring of opposite alignment, which will detect in all ways as a ring of protection. The ring acts as a helm of opposite alignment, though it can be used over and over on different people, never on the same victim twice.

Monkeyterrain, if he isn't the one you have already signed on, is good at doing maps. You cna see some of his stuff in his thread in the artist forum here, plus he is in a similiar forum over on ENWorld.
Since its 20,000 I suggest "Captain Nemo" as his title. Beyond the obvious connection, he is one who sails on his own terms and ignores those he doesn't agree with...confident in his journey and goals.

I like this encounter, Troll Bridge sounds like a nice twist.

I agree. Very interesting take. It's cool when you can have a bad guy and have him aspire to something better. And as James mentioned it confuses people It should make for some interesting RP'ing for those that encounter this fellow!

I book marked it too. I have so many gaming websites bookmarked the thing is two windows long. Guess I should take the time to re-categorize it into two or three folders.

Ravaged Ruins seems to be a great product even if you're not using the descriptions in the Wilderlands. Even from the sneek-peek on the AGP website, I have ideas that I can use. Good stuff.

Plus, I can finally run a good game around CSIO like I've wanted to for years!
