Forums Slow?

Post by serleran »

Just checking to see if anyone else is experiencing a dramatic and steady decrease in forum performance? Seems to have kicked in after the sudden loss of access.

The only thing that runs slow for me is pulling up the new posts. Otherwise, it runs pretty well. I just figured there might still be some bugs yet, since the forums only recently ported over.

I suspect the hamsters keeping the wheel spinning are getting tired. ;)

Seriously, though, I bet the TLG server is passing much more traffic, and much more frequent hits, than it ever did previously. I don't know if they're on a dedicated box or a virtual, but either way, it wouldn't surprise me if more horsepower was in order.

Even if its slower I still like it better than the old forum and all of its annoying ads. I got tired of hearing "You won" a million times a day.

Annoyingly slow for me! I'm timing a full six seconds between a click and the new page coming up. For me much more annoying than ads. Trolls please figure this out soon. Was not an issue when your new forum site first came on-line. The slowness is making coming to the site a chore, rather than a delight.

Yep, terribly slow and it's kept me away from here. Hopefully, the issue will get resolved.

Just to reiterate points made earlier, if my only two choices right now are somewhat slower responses vs. constantly hearing, "YOU WON!", I'll take the slow speed any day of the week. I have every confidence in the Trolls that they'll catch up to the issues of board speed when they get to it. As I've (patiently?) waited this long for my CKG, it's pretty obvious that I'm not all about instant gratification. :D

I just turned my blocker on and never got those ads.

The slowness is slowly...sloooooooooooooooooooowly...outweighing my patience, and my desire to frequent the forum.

I haven't really noticed the slowness, but then I hit the site most often from work, and PHPbb's don't often go with high speed from there. I'd probably also notice it a lot more if I didn't constantly multitask.
