I know a lot of folks like the tall, portrait screens the best...but I have to say I am a convert to landscape screens...bigtime. Why? Because I like to see the players! For those of us who are a little on the short side, I can't for the life of me see the table on the other side, or reach over it to scribble on the erasable mat, or move a mini. Landscape solves that issue for me.

I hope that this is put on the fast track, because I want one yesterday.

I agree. Landscape is the way to go. If you haven't used one before, trust me on this. ;)

Yeah, you make a point, I used to favor sitting on a stool so I could hover over the screens and see everyone. It also has that 'captains chair' kind of feel to it, but that's neither here nor there. LOL.

I'd also really like to see a landscape, 4-panel, hardcover screen. I'd buy two!

I'm with Narl. This would be a great addition back into the C&Cverse. The old screens are pretty frickin' awesomesauce. New screens though... awwwww yeah!

I'd love to see landscape screens as well. The portrait ones are too tall for my table. I currently set up the screen on a side table (18"x18") to my left, and use it mostly as a place to roll secret dice. I effectively can't use it for its info b/c it's off to one side. Landscape might allow me to put it front and center.

I'd also like hardcover, as the soft-cover one is hard to keep open - it keeps folding in on itself.

I love this idea but I do think with the savage world screens being so easy to obtain that inserts with artwork and C&C might be cheaper and easy to do.

HINT HINT for one of you guys with awesome computer and artwork mojo to make this!

I agree that a landsape screen pdf would be great for those of us with the Savage Worlds customizable screen, which is a three panel landscape vinyl screen with clear pockets on the front and back to insert whatever you want. My eye is now on Hammerdog Games landscape custom screen which has four panels instead of three. Three is sophisticated and non intrusive....probably my favorite asthetically speaking, but the four panel is awesome because it holds more info.

All that said, there is just something special to me about these darn hardcover screens. I don't know quite why, but I get all giddy like a kid at Christmas when I get out a hardcover dedicated game screen. Yeah, I'm goofy like that.

+1. Although all my gaming is online over SKYPE (no possibility of a face to face game in Nowhere, Canada), I don't need one to hide all my stuff, but would still love one for reference info when running my game.

I like the idea of having a panel (or 2 blank if 4+ panels are used) to write in our own stuff. Especially for some of us with various house rules. Maybe a surface that can written with a whiteboard marker (dry erase), etc.

Yup, I'd pay some coinage for one of those....

Ok, so just watched the video on You Tube with the sample screens. Looks pretty good. I'm actually liking the idea of two two-panel screens. When I read it, I wasn't so sure, but after seeing it, I think it works well. The thickness seems almost on par with FFG's Dark Heresy, White Wolf's World of Darkness, WOTC D&D 4e screen and GR's Dragon Age screen, which is a good thing.

I want to throw in a vote for at least a limited run Digest Size version of it. As that would complete my digest size collection and make transport to games a breeze.

The trolls also mentioned they'd be putting some CKG stuff on it and revamping it. Any more specifics on what they'd be taking off from the old screens and adding to these new ones?

No Module though? Not even something Lure of Delusion or why not the Golden Familiar again? Not even a 5 pager like, "They Call Him Guff" or "Where Cool Water Runs"??? Surely the Trolls could include one of these - perhaps Guff in the standard version and Waters in the digest size?

Anyway, looking forward to this and one quick suggestion. I know the this intended to come with two two-panel screens. But I would ask that you consider developing a Castle Keeper Screen Expansion Pack. Talk with Peter and have the Art extend over Eight Panels (instead of just the planned Four Panel). Then you guys add cool and amazing tables to make your games and castle Keeping that much easier. The intent is to release the additional packs with new tables and art (and maybe a short adventure) to expand the gaming. Food for thought. God Bless.

Can't wait for the new screen. The trick is to include as much information as possible(especially from the phb)without going overboard. Ckg extras should be limited to only the most useful information. New Peter Bradley artwork is always welcome, but I'm sure going to miss the old. If the screen is going to be 19.99(?), the inclusion of an adventure might jack up the price. The Golden Familiar could be released separately in print form for 5.00-9.00 instead.

Like what was said earlier, I think the initial release should contain stuff from the original PHB and the M&T. Later on a supplement that has CKG stuff should be sold separately for people who want it. Not everyone will use CKG stuff and they would be paying for something they don't want or need.

An extra two board screen would not make it unwieldy for CK's who add it to the original screen.

One thing for me, however, is font size. I'd rather have slightly less information if it could be printed at a decent size font. The whole point of a GM screen is quick access during play, and some of us visually impared gamers find that reading tiny type size is painful and I end up making "cheat sheets" to go along with my screen. What a pain.
I'm with finarvyn on this one as well. A good sized font for us "old folks" would be appreciated.

(a couple snips)

THIS is a great Idea, IMO! The simple/original screens, then an optional extra one.

That said, just do all three in one package, I guess.

I've aquired alot of TLG products now but this would be one I would probably spring for as well.

I don't care if it has one panel devoted to CKG stuff but I would prefer most/all PHB/M&T.

There is SO much in the CKG, all of it optional or with multiple variations that it would really need its own product, if indeed it could done at all.

If the CKG is being presented as optional material, not essential for play then it doesn't make sense to lump it in on a screen with the core material.
