Quick Purchase Help
Quick Purchase Help
Due to the happy news on the TLG Twitter feed, I've decided that it's time to purchase a PDF or two. I've already decided to get the Monsters and Treasures of Aihrde, but I'm having a hard time picking out what else I want. I'm fairly tempted to get some of the Haunted Highland stuff, but would rather wait if it's all going to get reprinted in a box set. Similarly, I'm not sure if I want the Aihrde Folio, if that's just going to get incorporated into an eventual Codex. If anyone has any info on these two, that would be great.
I've already got the 3th and 2nd printings for the Player's Handbook and Monster's and Treasure respectively, so I don't really think I need to get the new print in PDF form. I'm finding those stupidly tempting though. Does anyone know if the Barbarian info in the errata contains all of the changes for the barbarian? Specifically if the XP, HD, BtH and such are still same?
Right now I'm leaning towards just getting the M&T of Aihrde and the Umbrage Saga because they seem to be the two I could use with the least amount of prep time. Any other thoughts?

I'd consider the "supplement" works, like Castellan's Guide to Arms and Armor, Of Gods and Monsters, Engineering Dungeons and the like. Possibly the stuff not likely to be printed again in a different format... like Tainted Lands but that's really a matter of desire.

You may want to wait, if you look on FB you will see where Steve posted that Tim will be putting up bundles, presumably like the ones I requested.
Since its 20,000 I suggest "Captain Nemo" as his title. Beyond the obvious connection, he is one who sails on his own terms and ignores those he doesn't agree with...confident in his journey and goals.

Thanks Treebore. Saw your post on FB. I'll wait to see how much the bundles end up going for.
Re: Quick Purchase Help
I'd go with Umbrage for sure. That product covers A0-A5, as well as the two Blacktooth web-only pdf's. That said, only A6 and 7 are available beyond that(with 8 coming soon). There has been talk of the remaining A series and Aufstrag being released this year. Even if that happens, one wonders if A6 and others released separately before Aufstrag will be combined and released as "Umbrage II" down the road? Even if(and I'm speculating)...get the Umbrage box. Two thumbs waaaaay up!

If you're buying PDFs it doesn't matter so much if it's singles or a boxed set. I love the Haunted Highlands setting (especially the first 3-4 modules) and suggest you consider those if you get impatient.Wasgo wrote:I'm fairly tempted to get some of the Haunted Highland stuff, but would rather wait if it's all going to get reprinted in a box set.

It's been my experience that no matter what you get from TLG, its a solid product. My personal favs are the Tainted Lands and Towers of Adventure. I've heard some great stuff about M&T of Aihrde. I think that's gonna be my next purchase.

You can't go wrong with getting Bowbe's Haunted Highlands stuff. My players have had a blast there.
