Devourer
Devourer
In M&T the Devourer has spell-like abilities of spells that are not in the PHB: Control Undead, Ghoul Touch, Lesser Planar Ally, and Spectral Hand. Were they added in the 4th printing?
Re: Devourer
Control undead = acts as an evil cleric with a level equal to HD.
Ghoul touch = save or become paralyzed. Elves are unaffected.
Lesser planar ally = summon planar ally (HD max at 10 rather than 16)
Spectral hand = allow touch based spell effects to be delivered at distance of 30 feet.
No, they are not added in the 4th print. They should have been removed or transferred as special abilities.

Thanks. Is there an errata thread already started somewhere?, because I'm bound to find more biffs.
Efreeti get Scorching Ray, which also doesn't exist.
Eyes of Doom have a cost of 007 (should it be 700? or 7?).
Ring of Djinni Calling missing in table (which i bumped, but got no response).
EDIT: And some more!
Drider - Detect Lie
Storm Giant - Predict Weather, Weather Summoning
Hags - Forcecage
Hag, Night - Etherealness
Kraken - Weather Summoning
Grig - Trip
Pixie - Permanent Illusion
Titan - Etherealness

Re: Devourer
the last section all seem like 1e/2e spells or abilities to me. I'd just port them over.
Re: Devourer
Ya, all of the spells are available in the SRD and are easily convertible. I'm just pointing them out, so maybe the Trolls will add them to the errata or fix them in the next printing.
Re: Devourer
Scorching ray - ranged attack; 60-90 feet range; deals 2d4 fire damage; save for half; SR appliesPeter wrote:Thanks. Is there an errata thread already started somewhere?, because I'm bound to find more biffs.

Eyes of Doom -- joke; not errata
Ring of Djinni Calling -- reduce any ring by 1% and add this to that now-missing 1%
Detect Lie -- seems obvious: Castle Keeper call on save/SR allowed
Predict Weather -- seems obvious: Castle Keeper call on distance and accuracy; I recommend 1 mile, 5% / HD (level)
Weather Summoning -- seems obvious: Castle Keeper call on strength of weather; I'd recommend something like (duration of 1 day / HD)...
Level _______ Effect
< 8 _________ Slight increase/decrease in temperature; drizzle; fog; slight breeze
9 - 12 _______ Change in temperature (+/- 5 degrees); rain; snow; wind
13 - 16 ______ Major change in temperature (+/- 10 degrees); heavy rain; heavy wind (see control wind)
17+ _________ Massive changes such as tornado, hurricane, monsoon, drought, etc, etc
Forcecage: no save, no SR; range 60 feet; subject encased in walls of force; duration 1 round / level (HD)
Etherealness: caster becomes immune to nonmagical weapons and can pass through solid objects; duration 1 round / level
Trip: Dex save negates; SR allowed; make save or become prone
Permanent Illusion: pick an illusion and make its duration permanent; should not exceed level 4 illusion spell
Of course, this is how I would probably play it in the spirit of C&C... fast and loose.
