We've had a 'what are you listening to' thread that lasted quite awhile, but I'm curious to hear more about what you guys love to listen to, favorite bands, albums, genres, etc. I attached a poll, feel free to answer it or not!
As for me personally, I'm a rock fan through and through, though I enjoy something from pretty much all of its significant permutations. My favorite bands, if pressed to pick two, would be Iron Maiden and Rush, and ... I don't know if I could give you a favorite album. Especially since most of the groups I really like have massive discographies.

How come I always see, "Classic Rock", "Rock", "Heavy Metal", "Alternative Rock", etc etc which are all sub categories of one genre, but all is I see for country is "Country"? I'm an old southern boy. I like Classic Country, Bluegrass, Cowboy Western, Texas Swing... you kids today and your rock and roll. Dagnabbit!

Re: Musical Favorites
Pollster bias, I guess! One could break up any of those genres I posted into several important and unique scenes- including the rock ones. There's already a few whole types of music I would've liked to have put up there as unique categories (world music comes to mind, and dance/electronic stuff is actually a pretty huge omission).AGNKim wrote:How come I always see, "Classic Rock", "Rock", "Heavy Metal", "Alternative Rock", etc etc which are all sub categories of one genre, but all is I see for country is "Country"? I must admit, I'm not much of a country listener, though I do love Johnny Cash.

Metal & Classical here as the top two, though oldies & classic rock would go up there as well.

Re: Musical Favorites
While I do listen to just about everything on this list, my hands down favorite is Heavy Metal.
