As I said on another thread ("What's your order number for the CKG?"):

My CKG was in the postal bucket with our business mail here at work
when I re-opened the front door after lunch. It is GORGEOUS!

<sigh> ...but that's just from the single look I could when I took it
out of the box.

Waaaahhh!! I'm at work and can't look at it 'til I get home!

Okay...so I've been disconnected from the forums for a couple of weeks. I've checked out the Troll's Tusk updates when they've showed up, but beyond that, I haven't had much of a chance to keep current on things. So you can imagine my surprise when I get home from work to find a package from TLG sitting on my front stoop. I figure, "Awesome! This has got to be the hardcover M&TofA and OG&M that I'd ordered!" I got it inside and thought that it seemed a bit light for two hardcover books. Imagine the shock (and utter delight) when I open the box to find me a brand-spanking new, hardcover CKG! Trollzah!!!

as posted on another CKG thread):

Was thumbing through the CKG this morning and simply looking
at all the great artwork.

When you get your CKG, be sure to go a page or two PAST the
index pages -- the inside of the last page has an awesome
Peter Bradley picture and you don't want to miss it, really.

I really enjoyed the homage to "Emirikol The Chaotic" (pg 83) and "Paladin in Hell" (pg 8). Great stuff, Pete.

Well, to be clear, there is a picture of a paladin fighting demons. And there's another picture of a female thief, on horseback, escaping with the party cash which could be considered tributes to some early AD&D art.

The first one was actually a request by a person who goes by the name PeelSeel around these parts.

The second one, my sense of humor got the better of me.:)

Those were two of my favourite pieces of D&D art back in the day, maybe there is technically better art out there but those two just made me want to know their story and get in that scene. I can't fault your inspiration.

A little nod to the past every now and then is a good thing.

Fabulous news!

Is the hardcover CKG still available via the 'preorder' item on the store or should I wait to see it appear in the regular hardcover section before ordering?

No belated x-mas presents delivered to the castle-keep just yet...

I hope mine has been shipped as well - ordered the end of December, 2010. I am on the left-coast, perhaps it takes a bit longer for the camel caravans to make it here with the CKGs along with their frankincense, silks and other such goods.

Have the pre-ordered CKGs been shipped ? If not, what is the estimate for the pre-order backlog to be shipped ?

Thanks!

Greetings, TRG blog-verse!

1st time caller, long time listener...uh...if posts make sounds (?) Forget it.

Apologies if I'm re-stating previous questions and/or comments ( I swore I read thru this thing before I posted) but was there any discussion regarding the single-copies of player descriptions? I'm sorry for my lack of description, but it was something mentioned in passing at the recent (and joy-gasmic) Trollcon East in NJ this past weekend.

The conversation revolved around the printing and soon-to-be-releasing of single-type stat books/booklets for players. Essentially several different booklets that dealt with just warrior stats, ranger stats, etc. but were small enough to be carried in a back pocket, etc.

Again, if this is common knowledge and I totally missed it, I apologize. To make amends, I shall now sing like Prince.

Thanks, all!

NJPigBard, do you mean like individualized character sheets? I'm afraid I dont understand the question. It's likely I'm just slow!

@ BreakDaddy

You aren't dumb, don't worry. I just have a hellish grasp on the English language.

It's not the character sheets but more along the lines of the information found in the Castle n Crusade Player's Handbook. A smaller booklet that takes all the individual character-type info, reprints it and expands upon it but individualizes it. So instead of having to carry around the entire PH, you can just carry around your own personal booklet of Warrior info, Wizard info, etc.

Gah, ENGRISH!! I hope I'm not infuriating anyone here. I appreciate the help, BreakDaddy.

I watched the videos from TrollCon East and I believe what NJPigBard is referring to is the C&C Basic set not released yet. Steve described it with a character booklet for each class, aimed at younger audiences around 10. He even showed with his Dr Pepper induced italian hand signals throwing each player a booklet for what they were playing.

Haha!! THATS why I dont remember! I dont speak Italian!

@sajflorida

Thanks so much, sajflorida! I watched thru that entire thing and I can't believe I missed it. But, yes, that's exactly what I was after, tyvm. :D

That's what I get for trying to hear what I said on a podcast I was present for. I'm such an egotistical dope.

NJPigBard, no problem dude. I don't think such a product currently exists, but the official C&C character sheets actually do have the class powers for their respective classes on the sheets. A fighter sheet will have the fighter powers on it, etc.

Just got mine in the mail! The USPS did a pretty rough job on it, and it also seems like they left it in a humid place, getting the pages warped... but it's finally here!!!
