Roll a d20 for Gary . .

Post by Tadhg »

Someone posted a remembrance thread over at DF and I was in the middle of posting and took a sip of wine to toast Gary and rolled a d20 . . . a 1!! Almost sprayed the wine all over the monitor.

How about you, want to roll a d20 and remember a great man?

God Bless ya, Gary!

Thanks for everything!

House rule number one at my table: When you roll a natural 20, said result is proclaimed with an emphatic, "GYGAX!" Beers to you, Gary! Thanks for everything.

I picked up a die and gave it a roll only to discover what should be a d20 was in fact a double d10.

So I grabbed a real d20 and rolled it... 15.

Always remembered, Gary. Thank you, and all the founders of a floundering imagination.

I rolled a 16. Which seemed immaterial at first. Then I looked in my old DMG at the to hit tables and looked up what a 16 hits for a 15th level fighter, which my character was that I played all throughout high school. It hits a -10. In other words, a 16 is all I need to hit the best armor class. Now it makes sense. :)

Thanks Gary. Meeting him and hanging out on his porch was one of the highlights of my (gaming) life. Rhu was there with me. :)
