Question about your fave C&C adventure and my new avatar

Post by timburns »

Hey all, was wondering, what is everyone's favorite C&C adventure? I've been trying to figure out some of these sales I'm doing, wanting to know what you have had your eye on, or what you've played and enjoyed?
Also, what do you think of the new avatar? We are trying to ramp up our recognition here and on our other sites as well in the marketplace and we are going to try this one. Thanks, Tim

Favorite... that would be one that I won't be seeing any time soon, it seems.

Second favorite is one that is not yet converted to C&C -- a tie between Lost City of Gaxmoor and Bergholt.

Third would be Heart of Glass.

The new avatar needs more blue.

The Mortality of Green. And I don't see an avatar, just a broken image.

I've only played 4 of them so far:
Shadows of the Halfling Hall, haven't finished (seemed good, just had life intervene)
Rising Knight
Assault on Blacktooth Ridge (in progress)
Where Cool Waters Run

So far AoBR is shaping up to be my favorite, just because it seems to be a little better balanced and more cohesive than RK, and the fact that I can't really compare it with SoHH since we didn't get far, and WCWR is a single encounter.

Out of the ones I have not played but have read, I think A7 is my current favorite.

Out of the ones on the anvil? I have high hopes for Dark Journey. I think my group right now isn't in a campaign/sandbox mindset, they just want to jump in and kill things.

Hmm, tough question about the modules. If I had to pick just one it would be Heart of Glass, followed by C2 Shades of Mist. Like Serleran, I'm a big fan of By Shadow of Night: Bergholt #1, but that was never porteed over to C&C.

It's hard to give just one answer!

Tim, I like your avatar as it stands now, as I can see it. A little red X graphic with the words "User Avatar" on a blank field. Excellently profound. ;)

grr...haha, it is supposed to be the ring from the logo, the "O" in troll with TLG in the middle in green. Steve said he could see it okay last night, but i'll ask Peter or someone to figure out what is going on.

Works from this end. Some of these guys probably have their graphics/ad blockers turned on too high? :)

I like all of the Haunted Highlands adventures best. If I had to pick only one, I suppose I'd pick the first one.

No avatar picture on my end...and I don't have any sort of blocker that I'm aware of.

I saw the Avatar since you posted about Gary Con yesterday and I see it now. I use Adblocker Plus, and it is fully updated.

As for Adventures, of those published for C&C Heart of Glass is my favorite. My all time favorite Trolls module is Winter Runes. They published one I like even better, Lost City of Barakus, but that is a Necromancer Games module.
Since its 20,000 I suggest "Captain Nemo" as his title. Beyond the obvious connection, he is one who sails on his own terms and ignores those he doesn't agree with...confident in his journey and goals.

I see the picture in both Firefox and Chrome, this despite have ad-blockers and image frame deniers. Of course, I have allowed this site to display pictures...

Oh, and also it works with NoScript turned on.

Lion and Mortality are 2 really fantastic modules, IMO.

But for me, Assault on Blacktooth Ridge really kicks ass. It has everything for base (Botkinburg) to run/launch the contained adventures and encounters. Or if you do what I do, load up the surrounding area with other C&C/TSR mods in an around the region.

I also very much like Lost City of Gaxmoor and Heart of Glass, but of course they are large/larger modules almost campaigns in of themselves.

Haunted Highlands and Shadows of Halfling Hall are great.

All these modules and many others are in my campaign world of Aihrde/Greyhawk along with Yggsburgh and Castle Zagyg.

Tim. I can see your avatar just fine, with both Internet browsers and I do like it. Never mind the blue, keep as is :)

As for the adventures, my fav that I have played thru so far would be Wicked Cauldron.

I ran my group through several highly modified C&C adventures, as part of my "Heroes of the Gnarley" Greyhawk campaign. By far, the favorite was "Verdant Rage".
