Anyone else getting this?

Post by Go0gleplex »

Over the last few days I've been getting "Service Unvailable" screens or a really funked out forum screen that needs a refresh to restore the normal appearance.

I can usually get on afterwards if I go to several other sites first.

Anyone else hitting this problem?

I was seeing that quite a lot yesterday. But today the forum seems to be the fastest it's been since I've been a member - either here or back over on FreeYABB.

Yup. Troll Lords are working on it. I think it has something to do with the amount of forum usage vs server space? :)

Okay...so it IS a Troll upgrade/ site maintenance issue. I'll just grin and bear it for now then. ;)

It was a tight a fit when I moved it, so it's no surprise that it comes back to bite. Hopefully they [the hosting folks] can up the filespace limits with out charging a huge amount. As we all know your junk expands to fill all hard drive space eventually. ;)

We have been experiencing some problems with the commerce site as well and those much brighter than me (not that hard a task) should be able to get all that straightened out very soon. So bear with us! Thanks, Tim

Fear not! Brian is working hard with the company that hosts our sites to get it fixed; should be right as rain in no time.

I get it 2 to 3 times a day now. It's quite annoying.

I know, Rigon, it's a pain in the rumpus. We are trying to solve the issues that arose when they ported the site, but it's just a bit of growing pains and hopefully it'll get resolved soon.

Still getting those messages . . for about 3 minutes - about 5 minutes ago.

Anyway, I get them less often than when they first arrived, but they still present themselves from time to time.

Still getting it several times a day myself, but with Tim returning to his Tennis business for the Summer, who knows how long it will take the Trolls to see this...
Since its 20,000 I suggest "Captain Nemo" as his title. Beyond the obvious connection, he is one who sails on his own terms and ignores those he doesn't agree with...confident in his journey and goals.

I don't know that Tim could do anything other then make phone calls. In my own way I sort of took a look into it, and I can say it looks to me like something the hosting provider needs to check.

Basically when it goes down the whole website not just the forums go down. Even trying to load a non-existing page does not return a 404 or Coldfusion error, it give service unavailable. Which points to something in the stack, either IIS is busy and just blocks or IIS can't execute the coldfusion and other parts. Either way I don't think it's the Trolls fault. [However I'm an Unix/Linux Apache kind of guy what do I know about these funky IIS things]

[On top of this problem they had a far more serious problem with the website which they have solved. So rest assure there has been some eyeballs on it. Just no solution yet. ;) ]

What sucks for me is that this site is now labeled as potential spyware on my firewalls. I know I'm not getting anything malicious from TLG. It probably has to do with the way this site loads. But if not, TLG needs to make sure their site is secure where ever they are hosting it.

Do you know the list that your browser checks against? It would be good to have them re-check and get the site delisted. [Not to make do big a deal of it but they did have a problem along these lines. I had the site scanned by a major security scanner, and Brian worked hard to tighten everything up.]

Steve just "upgraded" the whole board. So we shouldn't see the problem anymore.

Seeing this about once or twice a day. Mostly, not a problemo . . I just come back in a few minutes and I can hit the site.
