Origins and GenCon Plans

Post by Piperdog »

Ok guys, GenCon is for sure for me and Origins is at a 90% go right now. With that in mind, I would love for us to get together for some off the cuff gaming and socializing.

Unless I win the lotto Piper...I won't be able to make any cons this next year.

GenCon is a go for me.
Origins I cannot commit to at this time. I will know about 3-5 days before I can go. :/

I hope you can make Origins dude. But if not, I need to get in on a game with you at GenCon. Scotty's Brewhouse maybe.

Gen Con is a go for me, natch. Gotta protect the home turf!

I managed to squeeze into one C&C event (Sorry, P-Dog, couldn't get into yours.), but I'm game for an off-the-map event, whether at an open table or a brewpub. Heck, ask me nice and I may even have a short intro to the World of Phantasie prepped and ready to run. 8-)

I will *definitely* be at Origins. Any C&C events going on there?

Origins has always been out for me. For many years, I attended GenCon and DragonCon as well as other smaller cons. That said, most of them have been off the table for me since last year. Divorce caused by both parties is a major factor. Outside of one con near St. Louis, all others fell on weekends that I have the kids. I could switch weekends, but will only reserve that option for funerals, medical emergencies, and the like. Money might also be a factor as well. I'll need all the gas money I can get to pick up my kids when they move out of state, or to be a part of my daughter's school functions. My job allows me that luxury locally, but it will be more difficult(4-5 hour roundtrip) after this summer. Anyway, it'll probably be 2-4 game sessions a month with local friends and the odd smaller cons that land on the right calendar dates from here on out. TrollCon will depend upon the dates. Either way, have a great time.

Well with the Trolls making a concerted effort to attend Origins, it makes the show that much more important to go to. Dang, there are going to be a lotta Trolls in the Indy/Ohio area this year.

I'm thinking that since TrollCon is out for me this year, I might try to make it down for a day. Hell, it's only a 3 hour drive.

I'll be at GenCon, for certain. I can only do one major con/two years, so this will be my second GenCon.
