An Adventure Workshop

Post by Go0gleplex »

Okay, I bounced this off a couple folks last night in chat and they didn't think I was completely insane, so;

What I'm proposing is to set one night a month aside so that CKs can get together and bounce adventure ideas back and forth, brainstorming their planned mayhem as it were. Were this to be done, would there be any interest outside of the few who I talked with last night :?:

Follow up question would be; Is a weekday or weekend day more convenient?

I'd definitely be up for it. As for times that would work well for me, my schedule's pretty flexible when it comes to evenings, though weekends are a mite better as I don't have to be at work at 7 am.

That does sound good, Todd!

"wicked good" is only a Jersey thing if you're from New England originally. It's a New England thing.

We'll try it at the Ning chatroom, if it can handle it.

Ah Relaxo, I cannot that night as I will be at the extremely awesome convention, MARcon in Columbus Ohio. That night is "Club Med" of gamer nights at MARcon and it is not to be missed. Should civility and conduct win out, you will see me at the Workshop. Unfortunately I have not mastered those abilites. ;)

This sounds like a great idea! I will try to stop by, though weekends are hard for me, especially now that the youngins have discovered camping!

Just a thought - Memorial Day weekend might be sparsely attended...

We were chatting the other night when Todd suggested this and I think it is an excellent idea, but I will be out of pocket at my brother's wedding that weekend so I'm hoping we can find additional times to keep this idea going :)

And if my Monday-post-con-blah-tinged-post implies that I don't like the idea, that's wrong! This is the kind of thing I enjoyed doing in the Friday night chats when I could make them more regularly.

Oh crap. I totally forgot about memorial day. (Shows what happens when you ignore holidays) I'll post a follow up date on this later today.

Dude, you can't help but notice holidays. We have about 11 a week in this country!! :x

Week-days are always better for me, but I will try to get it on any discussions on the weekends.

That's probably why I ignore the stupid things. Too many and every one of them is an excuse to bilk more money outta folks for gifts and crap. I do Christmas and that's pretty much it.

Maybe we'll alternate nights, have one on a weekend one month and a week day the next if the first goes well.

Holidays drive me insane! We celebrate Christmas, Thanksgiving and Independence Day. I'm pretty sure the wife celebrates other holidays but she's usually mad at me for not celebrating thema hahaah

Alternating is a great idea!

The thing about Memorial Day is that it's a big convention weekend, let alone the whole "pool's open / beach weekend" thing.

The 21st I may show up, though possibly a little late as my daughter's gymnastics meet is that afternoon (never know how long things will run with awards).

I am definitely all good with the idea, and would love to join... although weekends will be a little difficult for me until the move to the new house is finally done.

But if possible, I'd be there!

We've done this kind of thing in the old chat before, with the evil professor. I believe it turned out well.

If I ever use that ning thing, I'd help out, if I have anything to offer.

Unfortunately the Phoenix Games Club is running its Spring Games Day that day and as Club Secretary, I'm kind of expected to be there.

This sounds all kinds of awesome, but my weekendly game is at the same time. Hopefully someone will write up an outline of the minutes; maybe a Domesday/Crusader/Ballista article or two will come out of this.
