Converting Dragonlance to C&C

Post by Melkor »

Hi folks,

I've found it's a snap to convert almost everything from AD&D over to C&C, but with the way C&C classes are set up, I'm wondering how to convert Dragonlance setting-specific classes (and races) over from the Tales of the Lance boxed set.

Any thoughts, or suggestions?

Has anyone already done this?

Thanks.

Instead of a full conversion, I would probably use the class and a half rules to emulate strange new classes from any specific setting. This keeps the conversion and paperwork down to a minimum. Races? Well, the races tend to be balanced out based on their ability modifiers and special abilities so I would just look at the closest example race from the PHB and try to match the power level from that.

Kender: Skinny halflings that have a +10 to any Fear ability. Favored class: barbarian (just kidding... Rogue).

What are classes in DL that aren't in C&C?

Thanks for the responses folks.

I was thinking about the Knights of Solamnia when I wrote that post. They were modeled
as three separate orders if I remember correctly.

Yeah but arent they pretty much covered by the Knight and Paladin class? You might want to add some new class abilities per the CKG if they're a member of one of the factions, but I wouldnt personally go for an entirely new class.

You can always throw in Advantages [or a form of Advantages] from the CKG if needed to round out anything that seems to be missing.

I did one a very long time ago. PM me your email and I'll send it to you.

Rigon's conversion guide is da bomb. Very worthy of use in your C&C DL game.

Very nice. My wife is a fan of DL and occasionally asks me to run something, and naturally I'd prefer C&C. Thanks for pointing us to it.
