Open Call for CKs

Post by Troll Lord »

Hey All,

I put this out earlier today and then was swept up in the print shop and never managed it to the boards.

Anyone willing to run some C&C at Gencon this coming August, we have tables at Scottys Brew House open from Wednesday to Saturday. I will be running my mad hatter game of 16-20 players on Friday night at 11 pm.

We are brewing up something cool with a special dungeon/adventure for the occasion.

This is going to be great Gencon for TLG, what with the CKG out and all these other projects cooking up. We have already booked a small island in the hall to showcase it all!

And we would LOVE to gather with you guys and tip some beer and do some gaming.

Steve

You know I'll be there guys! I will be running a sweet game with room for 6-8 folks.....I sure as heck am not running 18-20 players like the Troll Lord! As Omote can attest, I don't do so well with time slots for official events, as I am a campaign kind of dude, but with no time limits and a frosty mug of brew, this should be the BEST ever! I am contemplating doing a two part deal, seeing how far we get Friday night, and finish Sat night. We'll see. My brother Jared will be there too (he ran official events with me last year and has a ticketed event to run this year too); he may play in my game, but he said he would be happy to throw down a game if there is a shortage of CK's (or if Steve just wants to reduce his table size from twenty to a mere 12!)

Remember, my brother and I will be available most of the con for pick up games...we left a lot of time open this year for our buds on the boards...let me know if you want to get together during the day as well.

Sorry. Probably just two or three small backyard cons for me each year. Call me in 2031 or 32, and we'll see about it. I'll be in my very early 60's, so I'll probably fall asleep BEFORE I get to the gaming table. C&C should be on the 20th Crusade by that time.

Troll Lord,

I am all in. I would love to run a game. You may remember me from last year. I came by the booth over and over and over again before I finally bought both books. I had a hard time selling my group on it and tearing them away from long lists of feats, but we are playing C&C now. I would love to run one at the big Con. I am involved with a game on Thursday (AD&D G1) till like 3 am. Friday I may or may not have a game with John Hershgerger (Swords and Wizardry fame) but I am open Saturday for a pub game for sure!

Are y'all looking to have us run a pre-canned? And if not, would you prefer we restrict to Airdhe, or is this just for fun and the enjoyment of the SIEGE system?

I ask, because I could conceivably run a short adventure or two flavored from my homebrew world-- which is a little higher-magic than Airdhe-- if that's cool. If that's no prob, then I could probably show some Hoosier Hospitality and help a body out. :D

I'm interested, but being certain I get there is the issue at the moment.

I may be able to get a game in, Wed is a good possibility, maybe even earlier in the day, what are the times we can play? I know I am busy most of Thu and a good piece of Fri, and I think Sat Night. Is the reference to a special scenario for the CK's volunteering to run, or do we supply our own adventure?

I'm not sure that anybody knows this yet. I have heard that there is something planned, but as to exactly what, I am not sure.

In that case I planning on running my own 3 hour adventure, set in the East Mark/Yggsburgh setting.

Even if TLG has their own scenarios planned, it's probably a good idea to have a back up plan. Just in case TLG get's very busy on the lead up to GenCon, it's probable that us fellow C&C Scotty's Brewhouse CKs will need to make sure that all of this C&C goodness happens.

Plan now people!

I am planning. And plotting. And prepping. One may insert the appropriate 'Moohoohoohahaha' here.
