I have an idea for the Trolls; one that I think would earn them an easy buck and would be a great service to C&C players. How about in addition to selling the CKG as one large PDF, breaking out the various sections into separate PDFs and selling those? For example, sell Part One: The Character, Part Two: Worlds of Adventure, and Part Three: The SIEGE Engine as separate PDFs?
One of the complaints I see about the CKG is that it “has a lot of stuff I’ll never use.” Personally, I don’t see that as a problem. I have yet to find a GM Guide (hell, an RPG rule book) that I use completely. But folks typically have an interest in one section or the other.
In particular, I think there is a strong interest in the Skill Packages (Chapter 18) and Combat (Chapter 17) material. People seem to really want those kind of rules and those aren’t ones that easily overlap with other editions.
For example, I’d really like a PDF of the Skill Packages section so I can print that out and share with the players. Yes, I can simply buy the CKG PDF and just print out that section (and I may just do that), but I was just thinking this would be a fast and easy way to make a quick buck and also perhaps deal with some of the flack TLG gets for the CKG PDF price.

At one time, the Trolls thought of selling the CKG just this way (or event selling print pages as three-ring binder packs). That way the CKG could come out in chunks at a time instead of waiting longer for one product.
They put it up for a forum vote and that option lost.
I still think the CKG could have been two or three separate books.

I love the Idea. So much so that with my PDF I printed out the Parts one and three and put them in separate binders. Since those will see use at my game table. Part two I just read after moving the PDF to my kindle.

Not a bad idea, really. I would think that a lot of folks would want the whole thing, but offering smaller chunks of the book seems like it might be easy to do but hopefully wouldn't impact the sales of the whole thing.
