Creature questions
Creature questions
Hi,
I'm new to the Crusade and have been spending a nice, quiet evening reading through my new Monsters and Treasure book...and I have a few questions about some of the illustrations.
1) Are the blue-skinned creatures featured on the cover Ogre Magi?
2) Are the creatures carving/sewing the golems Gnomes (they look similar to the ones pictured in the PH)? And, if not, what are they?
3) Will there be Devils and Demons in future supplements?
Thanks for the help and the great game.
Matt

1) IIRC, those are Troll Lords. They're not described in the book itself, as the cover is an homage to OUR illustrious Troll Lords here at Troll Lord Games.
2) Yes
3) Yes

They are troll parodies of the 3 troll lords running the TLG company. ^_~`

Yes, they are gnomes. ^_^

Yes. Last I checked there's a book called Gods and Demons coming down the pipe. If not that, the demons ought to go in the next monster book at least.

Logically, I thought they were gnomes, but looking at the pictures, I really started to think they were goblins.
They definitely look closer to the goblin drawing than the drawing of the gnome in the gnome entry.
Honestly, I like the appearance of the gnomes making the golems better than the picture in the gnome entry. I like the big ears and big noses.

*smiles* Well, when I think of gnomes, I don't think of the one in the many incarnations of D&D. I think of the mythological earth elemental spirit being. At some point I'm going to write up a gnome race/class more in line with the way I see the critters.
Same with elves, dwarves ect.

Your version of the Gnomes actually makes me want to play one They look like mischievous, elemental creatures from the earth, as apposed to big-nosed Halflings.
I would love to see your write-ups on the races.

Ditto.
There is always room for some interesting variation on some of the common creatures in the game. It's good to have the standard versions as a base, but thinking of a large world and how some races can and will look different from their cousins makes sense to me! 8)
