These vermin are highly adaptable and can be found in almost any clime (but rarely in arctic ones). They are aggressive, and will attempt to attack any creature within range, kill it, and take it back to their nest to eat. In addition to normal attacks, they will often attempt to grapple victims with their claws and then sting them repeatedly.
Mindless: Lacking any significant mental abilities, they are unaffected all mind-affecting spells and abilities (e.g., charm, fear, illusions, etc.).
Poison: The giant scorpion’s poison is highly toxic. Should the victim fail his save, a second save determines the outcome: success results in 2d10 damage and a -1 penalty to all physical attributes and initiative for 1-3 days; failure results in instant death. Strangely, they are susceptible to their own poison, and will die if they accidentally sting themselves.
