As soon as the Monsters and Treasure goes up, we'll begin loading all the A series up and then the DB series. Somewhere in that mix will be the CKG as well. Peter is getting very fast at this so it should pick up speed in the coming weeks.

Well, I finally solved this idiotic export problem to epub I was having with the M&T. As usual, it was something stupidly simple that took a lot of looking in the wrong place to find. Isn't that one of Murphy's Laws? But, in short, this book ought to be ready to be kindlefied by early next week. I've got a couple other much simpler things to sort out and it'll all be good. 8-)

Once you have both the PHB and M&T on Kindle with working TOC would you guys be able to list the size of both of them together. I've been foolish and have about 99% of my Kindle full with 300+ books (half of them are collections however, like the complete Robert Howard). Want to know if I can squeeze those two in there as they'd be awesome to have on my travels everywhere (instead of lugging some books around).

The pair of them together, on the files I sent in, are roughly 2500 K. The CKG alone is almost the same size at 2100k. Not sure what the final size is that Amazon.com puts out, but that's what I have on my end if that information helps? :)

Troll Lord wrote:Hey folks, the Kindle version of the PH has been updated to include the Table of Contents. Though Amazon doesn't allow an automatic update they will notify you of it and supply you a link to download the new file BUT you will lose any notations you have made to your existing file. This from Amazon:

Now that you've notified us about the updated content, I've asked the appropriate department to email all the customers who previously purchased your book to let them know an updated version is available; customers will be notified within 5 business days.

At this time, we must receive their permission before sending the revised version to their Kindles without any charges, because receiving the new version causes highlights, the last page read, bookmarks to be removed, and the locations of any notes won't match the updated copy of the book.

Monsters & Treasure will be released soon and it will come with the TOC.

Trollish apologies for the trouble, and we appreciate your patience!

The Nook will follow suite today.

Thanks,
Steve
Now, what happens if I didn't get that notification email?

Should I have heard from Amazon by now regarding the updated PHB? Because I haven't...

I saw the PHB as an ebook on Barnes & Noble. Are the rest going to be sold there?

From what I read on another post MT is being worked on right now. And CKG has been mentioned going e-book.

It does. I may have to delete a book or two off my Kindle to ensure that I can fit them in.

woohoo, just checked, I still have 2900k space left and together they make a little over 2500K (like 2552k) which means I have enough room.

Just checking, are the ones currently on Amazon for the Kindle the ones with working ToC?

Ah, I think I have the answer, they are the ones with the good ToC...making absolutely certain before trying to get them though.

PS: And just as a heads up, I could swear I also saw A1 up on Amazon for the Kindle for 2.99

Monsters & Treasures is available with a index though I am not sure the index is fully working as the index entry for some of the magic items opens the first page of the book for some reason. I have not received notification of a revised Players Handbook yet either, has any one else?

Just bought the Kindle version of M&T the other day and noticed the index issue myself. Some of the entries for magic items take you back to the first page instead of the magic item.

As well, the formatting for the potions table is...off. <grins> It posts something like this:

01-15
Potion of Might
256
324
16-25
Potion of Healing
155
232

Instead of as a table. Other than that, awesome book. And VERY glad to see it on the Kindle and readable!

Still no e-mail from Amazon, and still no response to this query here on the boards. Is there some way I can "request" the updated version of the PHB...?

I'll ping Amazon now! I can send you the updated version I think. Should be just like any other reader. I sent it to my wife's kindle for testing.

Thanks,
Steve

Sounds like TL's needs a new QA dept. This shouldn't go out the door with obvious mistakes such as this.

Eh, the book looks great other than 1 table out of....a lot. Those kinda things slip through, especially in a new format they are working on (which Kindle is for them, this is the second book released for an e-reader by them?). No skin off my nose, but wanted to post so they could be made aware!

Well on my copy it's not just the one magic item and treasure table it's all the ones I checked so far.it's no big deal, it's a learning process for the Troll lords which I am sure they will correct thanks to feed back like this and the CKG will be perfect.....I am really enjoying reading the books in a kindle format on my iPod Touch and my android tablet and I look forward future releases. I might even get the new version of the kindle to use at the gaming table.

I'm using an actual Kindle for them, my solution for some of it is simply to do a search for exactly what I'm after and go directly to the page I want.

Very portable, which is nice for me.
